When I was a kid, I saw an old guy put diesel on a puddled up dirt infield and set it on fire. He lit it off, walked over and said “we should be underway in a short while.” Sure enough, we were. It was a regional softball tournament and those guys were gonna play. I was dragging bats for my Dad’s team.

Ok not exaggerating here. . My Dad’s employer allowed him to use their helicopter (Bell Jet Ranger) to dry off the infield for a state playoff game a few decades ago. It worked like a champ.

What happens if you have the Same front row seats. I guess it’s the guy who gets there first. I envision a KY super fan with front row seats for today’s originally planned game getting unseated by a rabid Vol fan with the same ticket from last night! It would be a glorious sight to behold.

Likely some of it. I also wonder if a deeper fence is causing us to want to swing harder and have a lack of patience at the plate? Maybe a lack of energy in the place has us pushing too hard? Love me some home runs, but when you let that be your offense and stop playing baseball, you're gonna struggle. We need to get back to making pitchers work and doing the little things. Then there's the history with these "super teams" and chasing records. Might be that chase that has so few of them actually doing anything in the post season? This team needs to forget records and homers. Just get back to one pitch at a time and playing good fundamental baseball. You combine that with our talent and pitching and we'll be fine. Keep along this path and.....

Totally agree...in some ways I hope someone else gets the #1 ranking before region play...never is a good thing to rely on the longball....the game will eventually spank you real good...

They have been red hot all season and it's time for some adversity... an adjustment...couldn't come at a better time...to realize your weaknesses and adjust...these guys are special...we all need an adjustment sometimes...

However I hope to see them continue to make good contact, score some runs and pitch well. Our guys haven't really looked like we were having fun these last couple games. Lets get back to it. Just baseball fellas. Go Vols and even if we havr disagreements we are still all Vols. Love ya Bros and there are no better people I would rathet hang out with.

Agreed. The more adversity faced in the regular season equates to being better prepared for the post season adversity you’re sure to receive.
