I had 12 kids on the team (one quit last week, thank goodness), had one practice where 8 of them showed up. Other than that it was typically 5-6; saw one for the first time at the first game. I truly believe I was somehow handed the one team who has 9 kids who don’t care about playing and mom just signed them up. The attentiveness I’ve seen from 5-6 yr olds on 7 other teams so far is nothing like what I’m dealing with. Most are digging in the dirt or laying down throwing their gloves while my son is asking what the situation is and where he’s going with the ball.Ooof, that’s tough. We have a bunch of young players this year. It’s not been one of my favorites. And there’s only so much you can say to get them to play, especially with these younger generations of iPads and indoor kids.
We went from 11 to 8. Average 7 a night. Still at .500. Gotta push them. Gotta have parents that will let you lolI had 12 kids on the team (one quit last week, thank goodness), had one practice where 8 of them showed up.
