It was the bottom of the 9th inning and two outs. ANY run ends the game. A strike out ends the inning. Pitchers in that situation aren't worried about a runner advancing, They just aren't because they are literally just 3 pitches away from the inning to be over. Whether there is one person or 3 people on the bases, at the bottom of the last inning, the ONLY thing that matters is getting the guy to get out and to avoid as much entropy as possible, that's going to come by strikeout

That’s the correct line of thinking whenever you have a runner on with a 2-run lead and that runner scoring doesn’t matter.

Hard to keep up with all of the shots at our players. . Heck, I will definitely take Lawson‘s D and .280 BA and .405 OBP with 9 HRs for a SS and 9 hole hitter.
