The Official #1 Tennessee vs #19 Auburn Weekend Series Thread (Friday 7PM EST SEC NETWORK) (Saturday 7PM EST SEC NETWORK) (Sunday 1PM EST SEC NET+)

When she’s been there in the past they have calm down, but obviously not last night.

We unfortunately had some new “fans“ behind us last night which they want everyone to know they are there, but unfortunately they don’t know the game of baseball and were loudly questioning base running situations that the UT coaching staff was making as well as questioning some of our players, yet these “fans“ were wearing Tennessee gear. Hopefully they won’t be back.

The new “fans” that hopped on the bandwagon this year and obviously bought season tickets that are yelling underneath the press box got really got worked up last night. They had no reason to start yelling at a 13 or 14 year old kid. Somebody actually tried to get the police involved after the game was over.
That’s a damn shame. I love my seats but just not being in such close proximity of the heckler. I hate drama.

I did see the 3 policemen you mentioned. Really unfortunate incident.

i trust Preacherman 1000%. He had a front row seat to witness it right behind home plate. Replays back him up as well.
The replay shows it clearly hit on the AU side of the logo and one hopped into a group of players coming out to celebrate. Im not condemning or condoning it but it’s disingenuous to say it landed in the middle of the field when it was a good 3-5ft beyond the logo.

Understand that, but i thought in that 3 out save situation against that team and how they hit, you use heaters and not breaking stuff.

I wanted Joyce in that 9th inning, if for no other reason to maximize entertainment value. But I also thought that after an inning of Redmond, it would be a nice contrast and very difficult to hit. I guess staff doesn't think he's quite ready for the closer role.

We didn't pitch well last night. Our pitchers were uncharacteristically wild and walked way too many batters. We also missed some opportunities to bring in runners on base. It hurt that Blade wasn't on his game. But that's baseball. It happens. We've got another game today so flush that one last night. It's our best pitcher against theirs. Will be fun to watch and root for the Volunteers.

In the future, when Dolly is back, we'll have one of our four Friday nite arms waiting in the wings on the weekends if one of our starters has a bad start to pick up the slack.

You’re right but I hate losing to Auburn in the 9th inning. I hope we beat them by 10 runs tomorrow. At least we broke Vandy, Florida, and Bama. That feels good.

Our magic number for clinching the SEC overall pennant is 6 games. Reducing that number to zero is what it's all about to me. But I hear you. I'd like to shut those iggles up today, too!
