The Official #1 Tennessee vs #19 Auburn Weekend Series Thread (Friday 7PM EST SEC NETWORK) (Saturday 7PM EST SEC NETWORK) (Sunday 1PM EST SEC NET+)

I am not going to carry CTV or any coaches jock strap. I believe in the Vols and the program. I don't coach worship.

If it weren’t for CTV there would be about 10 of us in here figuring out what needs to happen for us to make Hoover. We barely had a program in the decade before Vitello.

Watch the video again. Does the bat continue to flip and bounce around amongst the Auburn players? Doesn't really matter though. Is it common practice for a head coach to pick up the opposing teams bat and throw it towards the dugout?

When hitters throw their bats into opposing dugouts, the opposing coach has thrown it back to them behind home plate 100% of the time.

Just got on this morning. Don't normally read during games because of the craziness that is on here when the people who do not know this team pop in and give their opinions. I do not follow any other message boards of teams I pull for so this has been a first for me but this is the reason that I have not pulled for UT in the past. I know some of the UT fans like these guys who trash the coaches and the players without truly knowing the game. I don't mind the questioning of a coach's decisions or a player's play but to go all in and say our coach is a joke or our players aren't trying is why it is tough to learn to be a UT fan. I know it probably happens with all fanbases but nothing like this. When I lived in TN, most of the UT guys I knew loved a new coach until he lost then wanted him fired. Bashed the players when they had an off game. and so on. I never heard that from my teams fans. How can you say a guy who has TV's record doesn't know what he is doing or the Redmond isn't a closer when he is this close to breaking all time record of saves.
Whoever was announcing last night, didn't listen but heard the audio behind the bat situation, doesn't have a clue. The kid threw the bat toward our dugout and TV picked it up and tossed it behind home plate on the logo, not in the middle of the Tigers. I would have personally put it in my dugout and someone would have had to come get it other than our batgirls. That would have been a long walk for someone. I could not believe the umpires did not immediately warn or eject the player who hit it. We were the first ones to be warned. then they warned them.
We will be fine either way today turns out. Redmond will respond the next time. I did not think any of our guys other than Camden had their stuff last night. Blade, as TV said on post-game interview, pitched okay but left too many glove side. Mabrey came in to face one batter and didn't attack the zone. Redmond could not get his change-up to do what it normally does. I get it. As TV said, you got your chance with the HR and then to have Beck and Gilbert up to win it is all you can ask for. It didn't work out but a little pain is needed at times, especially to your main guys.
Fan message boards are great. A place where fans can discuss games when they aren’t in the stands. Unfortunately, just like the idiot you would never invite to watch the game with you at the field or a sports bar....those idiots show up on the board and you can’t tell them to get lost. Ha ha. Enjoy this season as it’s going to be a historic team and year.

throwing our best arm today. he went seven scoreless against south carolina in his last outing

So you are saying he’s due for an off game…….:)

He has thrown well of late, I watched him against Sate and SC and when Gonzalez’s slider is working, he’s good. Should be a good game today……

With all due respect to Neely,I think Gonzales will be the best Sunday starter our lineup faces so far. He is the reason why Auburn and their fans have such confidence about Sunday games. If Beam bounces back to his form, it should be a great matchup.

If it was wrong for the Auburn player to flip the bat towards the UT dugout, it was even more wrong for the HEAD COACH to chuck the bat at the opposing team.
I disagree with you on this. Sports are played with passion. If the Auburn player would have flipped the bat and it landed where it should have, I’d say the Tennessee players and coach would have to suck it up. When you flip it towards a dugout, the celebration becomes taunting. It’s a fine line but there is a line. CTV had a cooler head than I would have. I probably would have slung it down the right base line.
