He’s not wrong though. It’s also a single elimination game, and literally anything could happen in one game of baseball.
I wouldn't say they have a good shot though.
Outsiders (rightly so) only see that KY won the series. What people don’t remember is that game one was played in a monsoon and was a pitcher’s duel won by KY in 13 innings (3-2) .. a 4hr 49 minute game. A deeper dive into that weekend and here’s what the stats show:
TN left 16 runners on base that first game (including bases loaded twice).
Game 2 - also played in a monsoon that was called at midnight and resumed play the next day in the 8th, with TN at bat with 2 outs, and 2 strikes…essentially giving them 3 outs to get back in it.
Game 3 - Good weather. TN’s offense pulled away.
Can KY win it tonight? Sure. Anything is possible, but it took all the breaks going their way in game, horrible weather, and a full pitching bullpen to do it. KY is on their 5th game in 4 days, their bullpen is spent, and they get a rested, pen full, #1 TN team who wants “revenge.”
The stats tell us a more complete story here.
IMO, this won’t be close. VOLS to the SHIP.
