The Official #1 Tennessee vs Notre Dame Super Regional Games Thread (Fri 6/10 6PM EST ESPN 2) ( Sat. 6/11 2PM EST ESPN ) (Sun. 6/12 1PM EST ESPN)

We can't get people on base. It's either a solo HR or nothing.

I only started watching with 2 outs in the top of the 5th so take this with a grain of salt. The offense wasn't a well oiled machine, but when I looked at the box score at the time it was clear the pitching was terrible and created a hole we had not been in all year. The offense was enough to win if you get average pitching we've seen all year.

Tip of the cap to Notre Dame. They were the better team tonite. I was impressed. They were sharp defensively, patient at the plate, waited for mistake pitches, then didn't miss them. And they pitched well enough to win. They had a very good offensive game plan and executed it well. They were looking for pitches up in the zone, and hit them hard when they got them.

I warned people earlier not to think that ND can't hit homers. They play in a big ball park and in colder weather. If they played in our park in our weather they'd have a lot more homers. They know where the smallest part of our park is, too. I don't think it's a coincidence they hit so many to RF.

Our starting pitching has been less than its usual steller self lately. Tomorrow, we need a terrific start by Dolly. And he must keep the ball down to give us a chance to win.

A few drinks and a couple head bangs against the wall later, when you think about it, 8-6 ain’t bad after being down 8-1. All factors be damned, if we come to play, we’re winning this series. I hope we’re channeling focused anger when we step up to the plate and mound tomorrow. Not ready to call it a day on this season. #ToOmaha

You sure? Most of the idiots on the board think otherwise. All the pressure is on ND by the way. Watch, soak it in and enjoy the next 2 games.
Tennessee will smoke this team.

Army Wife and Juanita I have your back here.
This is a totally inaccurate take. All the pressure is on Tennessee. This team has never had to play from behind in a "must-win," and they sure as hell hadn't had to do it without one of their best hitters. Unseeded Notre Dame has the 1 seed on the brink of elimination, with their best pitcher going tomorrow. They are playing with house money.

In other news, the BaseVols came up 3 runs short of winning their 12th game in a row tonight.

Wonder how many teams still playing have a streak like that.

To listen to the posts tonight, you'd think we weren't a very good team.

Please....learn how baseball works. We may well lose tomorrow or Sunday, and that will suck royally, but nothing, absolutely nothing, can change the fact that the 2022 BaseVols were the best team college has seen in decades.
