I actually met my wife at a college baseball game. You are lucky that you get to share that with her, she is a keeper. I’m hearing more and more that a lot of women, wives, mothers, girlfriends who never cared about baseball have been tuning in since Tony took over. That’s a plus so we don’t feel guilty watching every game.
He bunted at a ball pitch one. He took a curveball (easy pitch to bunt) pitch 2 that would have gone a long way if swing. Then he swung at a pitch he could not have hit with a fat albert bat and looked bad at that. Pitiful.Yeah...he had a fish out of water look about him on that at bat. I know our offense is built around the long ball, but in some situations, being able to manufacture a run or two could mean the difference in advancing vs goin' home. Not sure if this is something that can be fixed at this late date tho. We just have to be who we are. Bomb the ball and lean heavy on our pitching.
I’m not saying to copy the swing, it’s just who Burke reminds me of, during Davis’ prime years. He made it work for him over a 5 year period and ended up with almost 300 bombs. That’s pretty darn good. I would to study Miggy’s or the Man Ram’s swing if you are right handed. Sweetest right handed swings in baseball imo. For a lefty, there’s several to choose from lol. Griffey Jr, Ted Williams, Tony Gwynn, Ichiro, Chipper, etc. The list could go on for lefties.
