Oh how things have changed for you since you made this statement just one day before the famous incident.Never really got the noob treatment, primarily cause I wondered in spouting Astros stats from their rebuild. You’ve contributed muchly to this forum this season. Proud to have you in the community of this forum!
The Orioles famously bid against themselves when they signed him to a long term free agent contract. There were signs he was beginning to decline at the time, and writers said it was the owner, not the real baseball people, who wanted to give him all that money. Peter Angelos is the primary reason the O's took a nosedive into oblivion, and still struggling to recover. However, he has a killer good contract. Amazing what the birds were willing to pay for a guy who hit like .198 or some such.
Do you think he was on a performance enhancer early career? Or, age simply caught up?
As you say, at one point, he had the Bryson DeChambeau swing of baseball. Seems like he mighta hit 50 dongs leading off one year? Then, he just lost it.
Ok. After extensive internet Google searching I found the image that almost resulted in the loss of our beloved @chuckiepoo. I must say that I was expecting something more substantial. I'm glad he didn't get tossed over that set of arguments.

Sorry but I'm just not going to compare one of these kids to an all-time great. “The Kid” was an All-Star at the age of 20 and was going to be the HR King had injuries not derailed his career. Burke does have a very bright future and I know y’all are just wanting to compare swings and trying to compliment Burke, but I’m never going to put that type of pressure on one of these kids. Y’all can do it if you want, but it’s just too far for me.I think Burke's swing is more like Griffey than Davis, and you'll find some comparisons on line showing him side by side with Griffey.
You're right that Davis was almost Ruthian there for years, and he cashed that ticket for big bucks, and then he was awful for years until he mercifully retired. It was like he was two completely different hitters.
Have the guys the Orioles received in exchange for Machado ever amounted to anything? I don’t even know who all they got from the Dodgers. The Orioles famously bid against themselves when they signed him to a long term free agent contract. Davis took ADD drug aderol, which he was allowed to do through his career. He was never flagged for any other pe drugs far as I know. I don't think his decline had to do with peds. He had a seriously flawed swing and refused to change it for years despite record setting bad hitting. It was very frustrating. Thank goodness it's over now. He's in the Orioles history book as one of their best and worst hitters.

I’ll say he definitely swings better than Charles BarkleyDoubt that Blake is reading along, but do see your point.
How about we say he swings just like Yogi?

Griffey had a batting trainer that was widespreadly used to emulate his swing. Saying his swing looks like Griffey's isn't that bad of a comment.Sorry but I'm just not going to compare one of these kids to an all-time great. “The Kid” was an All-Star at the age of 20 and was going to be the HR King had injuries not derailed his career.
