The Official #1 Tennessee vs Vandy SEC Tourney Game Thread (Thursday 7PM EST SEC NETWORK)

Said in another thread, but since Alabama and Arky played under the pretense of double elimination I don’t think they can go single elimination now.
Why does it matter to Arkansas? They lost. Knowing before or after it’s a single elimination wouldn’t have made any difference in yesterdays outcome.

This would be like one of us wearing a Georgia Bulldog cap and jersey at the Florida vs A&M game today because of our hatred for the Gators, would you do it?

I couldn’t.
I would feel like Ace Ventura whenever he found out Einhorn was Finkle. Burn all the clothes and crying in the shower in the fetal position.

Finding out new stuff about you everyday, next you are going to tell us you are a soccer fan.
No on soccer. Grew up in Georgia and coached several guys in HS that played at UGA and wife is an alumni. I’ve been very honest on here that it is hard to be a university of Tennessee fan because we have some pretty fickle fans when it comes to supporting players and coaches. I also grew up a FSU fan and having Dooley and Bowden as coaches for many years the Laute became a big deal Living in Johnson city for 14 years a lot of our close friends were UT fans and they would love the coach one day and if he lost two games they would want to fire him.

Would they be able to play Monday if needed or does everything have to be wrapped up on Sunday?

Gotta be done Sunday. Regionals announced Sunday evening so automatic qualifier has to be in place. Obviously that might not technically matter unless Kentucky makes a run, but they won’t play Monday.

Sorry our fanbase has made you feel that way, Preacherman. I can't say I don't understand, because damn I totally do, which is sad. Our fans can be a rough bunch occasionally. Just know that the vast, VAST majority of Vol fans love Kirby regardless of how he performs and grateful to have him as part of the team. We're lucky to have him in the program.

I’m sorry but you just described every fan base in college athletics. I mean people want to fire Saban every time he doesn’t win 10 strait NC’s.

Sorry, Kirby who?

With all due respect to Preacherman, we are not the only fanbase in the country that expects to win. I get the Baseball deal in this instance.... Most of us know it will be very hard to ever come close to what this team has been able to accomplish so far. And yes we have a very vocal fanbase in all sports. Being a Tennessee fan has many meanings to me, it's in my family the roots are deep. As a child and even to this day I eat sleep and breathe anything Volunteer related. I can remember times listening to John Ward call a UT/ Bama game as early as 5 or 6 years old with my Grandpa on the front porch. There is something deeper than just being a fan in Volnation. Many of us would have likely sold our souls to be lucky enough to run through the T just once. Those that do on Saturdays in fall, they have earned it.But make no mistake I love my Vols even in the tough times, moments in history and the present challenges at hand. I will always be a Volunteer no matter what. I was born this way and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I can say that without a doubt baseball fans are a MUCH different crowd than football/basketball fans. I love football/basketball as much as anyone but baseball was my first true love. Through all my years of being around baseball, fans don’t usually spit vile like the other sports. Occasionally, you will see it happen but it’s not the norm. It’s a sport that truly humbles everyone: players, coaches, and fans alike. A lot of “fans” have unrealistic expectations and as soon as something doesn’t go right, they attack. I can only assume that the people you are referring to probably were never taught how to be humble in victory or defeat.

I’m sorry you have been subjected to the bad “fans” but I can assure you like @TheMookieMonster stated, the vast majority of us love and support our Vols win or lose. Take the Zakai Zeigler housing situation, for instance. I had never seen a fan base come together quite like that for a true freshman that had not even been on campus but a short few months. There are a lot of truly loving and supportive Vols fans out there and I am proud to call myself one. Hopefully your bad interactions are few and far between @preacherman20

This, couldn't have expressed it better.
