The Official #11/#9 Tennessee @ Florida Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, ESPN

I remember when Heupel first got here and was letting the players listen to pretty questionable music during practice. Some of us thought it was a bad sign but were told we were just grumpy old men and out of touch. I wonder what Kirby plays in practice? Maybe he plays nothing so they actually can talk to the players and teach them how not to jump offsides on a hard count on fourth down. Or how to wrap up when you tackle instead of shoulder-bumping a RB so he scoots on by you for a TD. Or not moving before the damn ball is snapped if you’re on the O-line. Or how to cover a damn receiver.

Just another head scratcher. FYI, Colorado QB, Sanders, is also playing DB. He just had a pick six.

Something tells me we may lose some recruits if things don’t change quickly. Boo Carter, etc.
Well ok, Colorado is recruiting hungry athletes. Prime won't be there long

Well, this place should be interesting for the next few days until the knee-jerk reactions die down and the calling for Huepel to be "fahred" ease up. Milton just isn't the guy for this system, and it is really obvious. They had to slow down the offense too much, and it still didn't matter. The D did well and made Florida look below average late(like they are) ,but if Milton is airing deepballs 10 yards past his receivers when the game is on the line, what does it matter? The terrible calls against them certainly didn't help an otherwise horrible outing.
Great post. TY.

Milton’s has had 3 years , time for Nico. Let this be his team to learn with. Idc how many games are left. I’m not arguing about it. Al, Ga, ND, ext have played True Freshman. I’m sick of hearing about the o-line , we can’t afford to hurt Nico. They have to learn to come and play together .

Or run an offense with Milton that might actually work in the SEC.

That's my issue. The play calling we've seen in the first two games was most of the play calling we saw tonight. I expected to see Heupel's tempo which we only saw sporadically. I expected to see the quick read offense (that goes with the tempo) and it's not there.

Okay, so Heupel isn't going to run that this year. What he is running is...... politely...... substandard. It was against UVA and APSU and it will certainly be ineffective in SEC play.

I can believe, though I don't know, that he doesn't have faith in Milton running the offense he prefers, but he's got to have a better option for an offense than what we've seen.
With Milton at what position exactly??????

Milton is not SEC caliber QB material and Tim Banks needs to be fired

Tim Banks is not the answer but the oline is terrible. They played better in the second half and am hopeful they got a few things figured out not just Florida playing soft coverage. Joe Milton is a liability no doubt but Ollie Lane and Hadden are terrible. There is no excuse for those kinds of mistakes no matter the coach

It’s absolutely substandard. And I don’t know if that’s because of Milton or Heupel’s approach this year. But whatever it is, it’s got to be corrected. I thought we’d lose tonight, in fact I picked us to go 8-4 this year because I just don’t think we have the team others thought we did. But what I saw tonight, we might be a 6-6 team.

The call on Castles was horrible.......and a game changer.

Even the announcers talked about the horrible officiating.

The officiating was worse than TN's performance.

Had the game been officiated well, we would have won; even playing as poorly as we did.

And that's simply the fact!!!!

Did Dylan Sampson get in at all this game? We needed his speed when Wright was tired. Use your weapons. Huepel needs to trust his guys and get it in his playmakers hands. This one’s on him and the defense for thinking they could bring down a 5’10” 220-30 rb with chips and not wrapping up.

Joe and Nico would be getting equal reps with the ones this week.
But also Hype gonna have to stop being soft.
Let Joe air it out down the field. If he he over throws then so be it but bubble screens or playin down tempo where Joe has to think does no good

Agree with you. UT would have clearly won 3 out of 4 QTRs except for the refs killed 2 QTRs of points.

Unfortunately the points scored in the 2Q by FLA put the game out of reach for this QB and offenses efficiency.

Not blaming refs but they did affect the chance to come back with their momentum killing bad calls or lack of. You know it is bad when TV announcers are pointing out UT being robbed.

The phantom holding call on FL 3rd down comes to mind. I guess we weren't allowed to touch an opponent's waist. It wasn't holding, but lead to a drive continuing and ultimately 7 points, PLUS time of possession.

I'd like to think the score in the second quarter being so lopsided is enough for the NCAA to review the entire 2nd quarter as far as referees go.

I'm sure Vegas would be very interested in that review and what happens with the future of those particular refs long term.
