The Official #11/#9 Tennessee @ Florida Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, ESPN

Tim Banks is not the answer but the oline is terrible. They played better in the second half and am hopeful they got a few things figured out not just Florida playing soft coverage. Joe Milton is a liability no doubt but Ollie Lane and Hadden are terrible. There is no excuse for those kinds of mistakes no matter the coach
As bad as lane and harden are, nowhere near as bad as qb play

Looks like all SEC football teams are struggling this year. Who knows who is going to play in the Championship game. Looks wide open.

Guys, clearly this staff doesn't believe JM can successfully throw it intermed or deep middle and thus switched to sideline stuff all game long and in the AP game too. So my question is this......why didnt Huep stand up and say "this team is a far ways off". Prepare us for this crap if you already knew it was a FRAUDULENT team. Heup should have managed the narrative better. Playcalling never gave us a chance. Running the clock before half down that far? A give up move among many other questionable strategies.
No offense but you have no idea what you're talking about. We took plenty of shots all over the field in the passing game. None of those worked in the first half as their defensive line was completely overpowering us. We obviously use the short passing game, but those worked pretty reasonably well. It's like a run play. And the reason we ran the clock down in the first half was very obvious, as it worked. We were on like 49 yard line with 35 seconds left. Clock stops after a first down, plus we know how to run tempo. We don't need an abundance of time on the clock to be able to score there. Leaving plenty of time on the clock for them would have been a huge mistake though.

So if on 4th the QB took a knee at :04 left, how did the clock expire AND there was a flag thrown for late hit?
Could have been a run off for the penalty. I’m just happy they cut to Co to avoid further embarrassment. Not a good look.

Then I've got a 9 year old boy here crying saying to me, "why don't they try daddy? why don't they even try?" I'd like to see overpaid Heupel come help me explain this to a 9 year old boy about teamwork and effort on the field!!!

Quit blaming the damn refs. They didn't miss all those tackles, we clearly made undisciplined penalties that killed us. I promise you, the refs weren't the issue. We are soft!!

The blindside block call alone cost us a 1st down deep in their territory but they call us for a phantom roughing. Laughable.

Florida could lose to Georgia, and perhaps to Kentucky and South Carolina. We regroup, make the necessary changes, and we could still have a decent season. Setting the bar at the playoffs Is a recipe for disappointment.
Is the Liberty Bowl decent to you? We’re dropping UGA and Bama and probably USC and ATM.

Dude the officiating was so bad Fowler and Herstreit kept referring to it.
When the commentators refer to bad reffing during a semi blow-out (and yes it was just about that with Napier calling off his aggressive play when they got up big).....when the commentators bring up refs that is akin to an attempt to save some tiny bit of face to a program that is being EMBARRASSED. Understand it for what it is. Anyone who even mentions the refs in this game is just not understanding what happened tonite. If blaming those stripes makes you sleep better then go ahead. But its much much deeper than that I hate to say.

I've been a fan my whole life. I'm sick of subpar coaching. You go away
Do you not remember the previous 15 years before Heupel got there? We were number one in the nation last year. We were expected to be Florida this year. It’s a bad game no doubt, but give me a break on the coaching with a Heupel.

Can’t run off the clock after a late hit penalty since it’s a dead ball foul. At the minimum, it should have been Tennessee’s ball with 4 seconds left minus 15 yards due to the “late hit”

If coach makes a change it is obvious, if he does not it is obvious everybody calling for Joe's head are idiots and should not be posting on sports boards.

I'm rooting for Joe to succeed. Guys a pure class act. I see why Huepel insists on sticking with him as he's very talented, and that's what I respect him for. I don't understand the idiot line, but I'm also tired and it's been a long day. I hope that I'm wrong and he surprises me going forward.

are you going to dispute what I said about how many quarters we won or lost?

How many different team sports have you played? How many play books have you studied, not just looked at, but studied? Do you have any notion, what so ever, of the total information a coach has on his team that fans don't have access to?

Instead, you're just mad about 15 minutes of poor play. Look at each half and then look at each quarter. In fact rewatch the full game objectively on youtube once it's uploaded on youtube.

How the vols played in the second quarter is the difference. Because of that you don't throw out the qb, coach and playbook you've been working on since last spring. Think long term what would happen to the Vols ability to recruit a top qb if you got rid of milton or the coach or the playbook because of one bad quarter. It takes years to put together an exceptional college football program, (not team, program) and soooo many people here want to just blow that up. Those people are worse than any opponent the Vols would ever face - that's why .... it won't happen. If it did, the vols won't have a good football team for well over a decade because no one with any real world experience in football would never play in Tennessee.

Again, I'm not even a sunshiny type of fan, it's just how football actually works.
You are what your record says you are.

UT got embarrassed by UF. It's that simple. Blame it on a bad 15 minutes; Global Warming; Toyota gas pedals; Donald Trump; or Hunter Biden.

Makes no difference. Let me repeat: UT GOT EMBARRASSED BY UF.

That's how football actually works. Matters not how it happened. It happened. Again. For the 10th time in a row in Gainesville.

Granted, only 2 of those are on this staff, but still...it has never been about how many "quarters you win". It has always been about the score at the end of the game. You can deploy all the smoke and mirrors you want, but at the end of the day, it's still 29-16, and 10 in a row in Gainesville.

That's how football actually works.

Go Vols.

Milton didn't lose them that game. He's a solid QB who if you get him moving he's going to struggle like most QBs at this level. He had some very nice throws tonight. Both TD throws were darts. The throw to Thornton was likely his best of the year. He missed squirrel bully a foot. His worst throws were the two balls he ran into the ground. The last one against McCoy he had to move his feet. I actually think Joe played his best game tonight that's hes played this year.
So you think Milton played his best game tonight.. okay 👍
