He’s built the program into one that can compete with any team in the country. He started with Donnie’s dumpster fire.

We’re going to miss him on the boards. If we don’t figure out how to put more effort into rebounding there will be some games where we’re -10+ on the boards. In conference play that can be the difference.

Also, severely restricting his minutes grows locker room cancer. It’s being managed just fine.

He’s not a great leader. The staff is coaching around that. They are making him better. I doubt that we see Bailey do anything close to that give up play versus Nova the rest of the way.

Calm down. TN won the game. It’s laughable the butt hurt or trolling that is chronic from a minority of posters. The brighter ones can see that the program is in terrific shape.

It’s a little early to say we aren’t getting top 15 results this year. When all is said and done I think that’s exactly where we will end up. Barnes isn’t in the top 2% of coaches in the country but he’s probably in the top 10%. I love him being here.

Battle 4 Atlantis…played there around 2017. I think beat Purdue, lost to Nova, beat NC State.

Edit: Sorry, I misread your post. I hadn’t seen it announced either.

Historically TN is around a top 30-35 program. At one time only Kentucky had better SEC tradition. I am thrilled to not be missing more than half of the NCAATs and be on the bubble for half of the times they’re invited. It is great to practically be living in the top 25. It is amazing that big time recruits are coming here and it is also amazing how good they all are as members of the community. It is also cool to see how much they really like each other.

Those complaining about this win need to remember that Alabama lost yesterday to 87th ranked Iona, and that mid majors are causing havoc this season. Those complaining about Vescovi, ORN, or Fulkerson need to watch this game re-run. Those complaining about JJJ should note how we had difficulty defending this team and rebounding. Those complaining about Rick Barnes need to tell us who they would hire in his place, and provide evidence that 1) he would be willing to coach at UT, and 2) he would be better than Barnes.

Well, Iona is a pretty good team. You said it yourself they’re #87 compared to like #280 for TTU. Either way, a win is a win. That’s all that matters at this stage. I’m more concerned about our health at this time. If Josiah and Powell miss extended time that won’t be good. Particularly Josiah. He is so important to this team even when he is shooting as poorly as he has this year and to end last year. He is elite defensively and provides leadership.
