The stupidity about how you go about it in this case wont be envied by me. The AA is a joke, but so is Wade and those they kept him.

I can agree with you in saying that LSU/Wade went way out of the gray. I guess I’m already projecting that with regards to the FB investigation the UTAD was an open book but will in all likelihood still get hammered and stand there holding the nails while the AA does it.

LSU was ALWAYS going to be a really tough game for us. They have several big time players and they can play. Of course, when we shoot like we did today especially in the first half it really makes a win extremely difficult.

Heck I am still waiting on an elite 8 with Barnes. At least with Pearl you had the feeling it was just a matter of time before he broke through and make a final 4. I am not getting that feeling with Barnes. Pearl is just a better coach. But we could do a lot worse than Barnes.

Barnes is a program builder. He's done his job and done it well. Expecting much more than we've already gotten from him will lead many to more disappointment. that's not a knock it just is what it is.

I'll take his Texas run of 20 straight NCAA Tournaments....I couldn't fathom that at Tennessee.......

Money doesn’t matter much to coaches anymore.

Hell, we offered James Franklin 8 million to come here and we ended up with Josh Heupel.

Anyone who thinks we can pay for an elite coach to replace Barnes is way out of reality.

We have 3 five stars on the team. Hard to believe we are this bad on offense.

We have guys who are athletes/slashers. We don't have a true PG. We don't have a legit big man. Throw in the fact that we aren't that great as shooters and it makes for a very inconsistent basketball team. If we aren't "on" from the outside and teams slow things down and force us into our half court offense, we become somewhat impotent on offense.

I get what your saying and maybe I'm too naive or too idealistic but cheating to win defeats the purpose of playing a game. If you cheat you really didn't win.

They re very different situations. Wade had some success with his blatant rule breaking and to my knowledge hadn't made any enemies at LSU.

Pruitt on the other hand had a terrible season and had pissed off at least a few people he needed on his side. Honestly, without that he's probably still the coach.

We're supposedly a football school yet the last 2 coaches we've had to settle for way down the list for guys that weren't on anyone's radar. Barnes pretty much fell into our laps. Barnes might leave the program in a shape that a good coach would come in and take over, but that would have to be when he decides to retire.

I mean this place hired Donnie Freakin Tyndall.

And you could get that. He'll average 20 wins a season and keep his team in the rankings. I woudn't expect much beyond a Sw16 in post season though.

Barnes took an unknown roster and turned it into a "Sweet 16" team......unfortunately, lost a close one before we got there. I don't hang that on Barnes or the players. Just seems like the Tournament can cause some disappointments for a lot of teams. That was a fun team to watch...Didn't we win 30 games or so? Hard to dismiss that team or coach as a failure for me over one game.......

I'll take it.....I'm an old fan and have suffered through some really bad stretches.......just like football. I'd take 10 wins and 0 National CHampionships over the next 20 years, compared to where we are now.....

We'll be wearing a hard hat and tool belt with a pocket for the nails, a loop for the hammer, a tape measure, and some screws. The hard hat is for the NCAA coming down on our heads so hard we'll need it for protection, the hammer and nails is for the death penalty coffin, the tape measure is to see how far we drop as a program, and the screws....... uhh you know we're going to get screwed.

THat is an improvement over the last 40 years. Tennessee is not a storied basketball program. I'm just not sure what people expect? I'd love to have Kentucky's history...but we don't. We'd better appreciate this Barnes stretch......he's a great coach.
