The Official 2014 Offseason Thread

Speaking of triple doubles, has anyone ever looked up Fat Lever's stats? He had a pretty impressive run numbers wise, especially rebounding for his size.

Rondo really is one of the more puzzling players in the league. Can pass and defend at an elite level. But seems to clash with others and I'm not he fits in a lot of systems. Still, a very good player, but kinda forgotten imo by Uk fans with the last five years. He really was a pleasure to watch in uk uniform. Wish he could have stayed more.

I actually like Rondos game, for the most part, as I prefer pass first PGs that are lockdown defenders. He just tends to assist hunt a little too much, dribble in circles trying to make the perfect pass and sometimes disrupts offensive flow. He obviously has chemistry issues. He's fantastic in the open court though, and is a nightmare defensively.

Michael smith spoke a bunch of bullcrap with Popovich has won 5 nba championships he's beyond reproach. He's not freakin beyond reproach no matter how many damn titles he wins.
Neither is any other head coach in the NBA.

LMAO, the best highlight from the Cleveland game was Kyrie dribbling all around and then hitting a 20' jumper, all the while Kevin Love is wide open calling for the ball at the 3 pt line.

My worst fear is that we'll see a lot of this.

Didn't you feel better last year when you knew it was slim that the cavs would make the playoffs so you could be entertained by their badness?

So the Bucks shine in a preseason game to beat the freakin Knicks. I imagine a short term achievable goal for the bucks is back to back games as they couldn't do that all last season making them a new garbage of awfulness.

I've been critical of Kobe for years, and it seems like it was just me and irrational haters (I actually was a Kobe fan, even as a Laker-hating Jazz fan until stats convinced me he was overrated). Crazy how fast the tide of public opinion changes. His tenacity suddenly becomes undesirable when he was praised for it for 15 years.

So you liked a guy until the stats told you not to?

Iverson is one of my all-time favorite players, and the stats say he was average. I still like him. It was just a weird way of phrasing it.

Kobe, on the other hand, fell out of favor with me in part because it's my nature to hate Lakers. It's hard to watch a guy get all the credit for winning those last 2 championships when he wasn't even a top 10 player in the league...he just happened to play with 3 quality 7-footers.

You can *like* players that aren't good. Lol.

Accidentally posted this over in the Vol thread, meant to post it here.

Paul George is shooting jumpers... only 3 months removed from his injury.

Hope he comes back as Nikes poster boy with #13.

Just saw a video of him on instagram. Maybe it's just me but he looks really skinny, as do his legs. He was never big or anything but he looks like he's lost weight to me.

Would be awesome if he came back.

I don't want him to risk injuring himself by rushing back but sometimes sitting out doesn't do you any favors either. You never know... you have guys like Adrian Peterson who come back and play earlier than any normal person could in a contact sport, at a position that gets hit more than anyone, and he holds up fine. Then you have Rose who took the cautious approach and he comes back out and hurts himself again. So... who knows. If Paul George feels confident playing on it, that's a good sign. That's more Peterson and less Rose as far as mindset goes.

Kobe is the person I think of when people say stop working hard and work smart. All that time spent in the gym so he can take more bad shots per game. Stupid.
