I'm with you. What a BS situation. I hope we have them battered and in tears by halftime. I don't suppose their players have anything to do with it though. Tyler handled it with so much class.
Maybe those Iranian "journalists" were forced to ask that crap. Which is a rich, hypocritical irony in itself.
It seems like if anything, they would err on the side of him being in the lineup despite not being ready, as opposed to him being ready but not playing him. Just saying that given his pedigree.I still don’t understand why Gio hasn’t been getting more looks.
Honestly not sure. There were rumors of Berhalter keeping him out and some players upset by it, and then Berthalter saying Gio wasn’t fit but Gio saying he was. Idk, I lean towards that being just rumors but he’s one of our more skilled players and one of our better creators.. but he’s seen something like 10 minutes of game time against England and that’s been it. Tactical reasoning doesn’t seem to fit either. Idk. My untrained and severely unexperienced opinion is it’s just a strange decision.. but I’m wrong more than I’m right haha.It seems like if anything, they would err on the side of him being in the lineup despite not being ready, as opposed to him being ready but not playing him. Just saying that given his pedigree.
Surely there isn't some kind of perceived sensitivity to him getting "undeserved" playing time because of who his parents are, right? Does petty stuff like that exist at this level?
