Somebody made a good defense of Berhalter here. The problem is he was hurt and coach was forced to take a risk on a guy that was dinged up or go with a healthy guy. By the time it all played out, he could have played but we didn't know that when the decision was made.

Yeah. Pretty uninspiring penalties from Japan though. He clearly did his homework, because I think he went the right way on every PK, they just didn’t make him work too hard once he simply dove to the right side.

It has a NCAAT feel to it. The Cinderellas are interesting while they last, but all the teams who have made it through to the QF so far are teams you'd expect.
