One problem for Auburn on that TD was their #10 playing on the back line of the end zone. Two receivers crossed in front of him including Bond and he didn’t cover either guy. Just stood there. And the guy who was covering Bond never turned around. Haven’t we had that discussion about our DB’s and their technique?I'm not saying blitz but you don't give him 20 seconds to throw or leave a DB 1:1 in the end zone either.
Just terrible.
Blitz and the receivers don't have time to run 40 yards.Rushing 3 is the dumbest coaching move in college football---by far. College DBs are simply not very good, and if you let any decent or
better QB stand in the pocket for 15 seconds, a pass will be completed. And Auburn rushed only two! Coaching stupidity of the highest order.
Auburn should have rushed a minimum of 4.
I wasn't being negative just stating an opinion on an opiniated forum. I root for the guy and am thankful for what he has done thus far. Not big on his in game adjustments or lack there of or his timeout management. Needs to fix his coaching staff also. Last years team happened because of Hooker and an all star team of wide recievers to go along with a solid backfield. He is gonna have to recruit at a much higher level and pull in high quality transfers going forward. Otherwise we will never get back on Bama and Ugays level the way Tennessee is supposed to be! I know plenty about football. I want higher standards than to be a mediocre football program. We are a traditional football power that has lost its way in the last decade and a half. I'm eager to get back to that level and stay there consistently. If that's wrong, sue me.Lol. I'm sure we are all waiting for your stamp of approval. This coach took Tennessee to the #1 ranking last year.
When was the last time that happened? I'll wait.
You have no clue about football if you "don't know what to think about Huepel."
A voice of reason. From what we saw earlier from Milton, none of us really expected Milton to play as good as Hooker did. We knew this year would be a 8-4, or best case 9-3, season. We just need to win our bowl game and begin the recruiting process. Hopefully we can get some top-name recruits and shrink the gap.
Exactly. It was an execution breakdown. I say the defensive call was sound for that situation. One problem for Auburn on that TD was their #10 playing on the back line of the end zone. I thought they got rid of that disrespectful Indigenous American name and replaced it with the KC Swifties? You a Chiefs fan? I have Mahomes & Kelce on one of my fantasy teams. No one can catch a football on the team. Rice is the only one that can catch a ball (besides Kelce) but they keep rotating him in and out.
What would be the benefit of "actual game experience" for Nico if he didn't have Nico read the defense and do what he will be expected to do next season? When the opposing D is defending the pass, we run it.
Gaston Moore has helped this team daily. Him taking a shot at the end zone is like when the 13th man gets into a basketball game in the final 20 seconds and his teammates are urging him to jack one up from 3.
I noticed your FT practice shooting, Drewbydoo. And I admired that you weren't embarrassed to shoot them granny style.Exactly. The guys on 3rd string and on the practice squad are a very important part of the team because without them, the team would be so much worse because .... they have to be smart enough to mimic the opposing team week after week and to a mild extent are practice dummies. Trust me, I know because I've been that guy towards the end of the bench and oddly, once in a while, we get tossed into a game and are actually needed in the moment even though the coaches barely know who we are. ie I had the highest FT shooting percentage on my high school team as a freshman and the coaches didn't even know it (because I was so short as a freshman and thus totally ignored when practicing FTs).
Fellow players def know who we are and are extremely nice to us and inclusive when the team does anything together and that includes eating, weight lifting, joking around and obviously during practices.
