Sad news. My new to me model 29-2 has to return to Smith. It's got hammer push off ;(
Pretty much means someone dicked with the trigger at some point. Probably take the opportunity to get a complete action job and replace what needs to be replaced in its old age.

Interested in seeing what your currently carrying... In the market for something smaller than my g19 gen 3, awesome firearm but it's difficult dressing around it in this south Florida weather year round. Look8ng for some advice. Thanks fellas

Kahr P9 personally, though I am not fond of a DA only trigger.
Slim, compact and conceals easy. Doesn't print that bad. Reliable and works good.
But a second to DTH and the mini-Glock. Can't go wrong with mag commonality.
Kahr CW9, Semi-automatic, 9mm, CW9093, 602686047319, 3.5" Barrel, 7-round - 645137, Semi-Automatic at Sportsman's Guide
wow!
Is that a good price? I don't know much about Kahr pistols.
Not a big fan of the Glock, and carried / carry a Glock21C and Glock 22 for duty weapons. Just can't get past the absence of a positive physical safety. OTOH, love the way they shoot.
I grew up on the 1911, and that's where I'm stuck. I carry a RIA compact .45 off duty. Not a pocket gun; has to be in a hip holster (IWB or OWB. I use Bianchi); and so I always have to have an untucked outer shirt or jacket. 7+1, and the ballistics of the .45 round are tried and proven. I only have to put one round in the torso, and game over. Federal 230 gr. Hydrashok / HST. That gun gets me through qualifying every time, including the Flying While Armed federal qualification. Not a tack driver by any means, but a fight ender every time.
What's the consensus on CZ pistols? I know nothing about them except they're all metal.
Which brings me to a question. I have a Colt AR-15 A3 (piston) model, heavy barrel. 16" barrel, collapsible stock. Completely stock. This one IS a tack driver.
This is my personal weapon, and I am qualified and carry it as my patrol rifle. I am debating a laser / ACOG type add-on. I've been to AR-15.com, and am dizzy at all of the info there.
I am no longer on the SRT (they have their own toys), but I am thinking active shooter response, in which case it's me and whoever gets there next. Or just me.
Leaning towards ACOG, but would appreciate any TO's who have experience.
Go Vols.
Colt made a piston system?
In all honesty, you likely won't ever need anything more than an RDS or holo sight. A 1 MOA dot should give you what you need.
Seems to be the biggest hang up with most people that don't like Glocks.
Yeah, the A3 uses a piston instead of the full length gas tube. Much crisper, and cleaner.
I have the 6721 AR-15 A3. Previous was a CAR-15 with the gas tube. New one is the same size, but with the piston and a heavy barrel. 1/9 twist, with the carry handle. Stock from Colt.
I have time with two Tac units. First, we carried the MP-5N, full auto, suppressed. Sweet gun. The bolt cycling made as much noise as the report. That gun spoiled me.
Second, the 10.5 inch barrel CAR. Another sweet gun, but full auto is almost useless with a 10 inch barrel. Muzzle rise was all but impossible to control.
So with me moving back to patrol, I went back to a standard Colt AR. The SO issues Bushmasters, but I use my Colt. Bought the 6721, and love it. Semi-auto is fine. Using the standard sights, I can break clays at 200 yds. More than enough for what I might face. But clay targets, and a moving, shooting adversary at 50 ft are two different animals. Point and shoot is critical.
I've been through a couple of Active Shooter Response (ASR) classes. Those guys from Texas (name escapes me) are top shelf. They preach long guns in hallways.
Military uses ACOG for CQB. Not cheap, if you want the best. Willing to spend the coin, but wanted to see if anyone out there has been where I am, and knows the right choice.
Thanks for the info. I'll go look.

I'm more in the RD camp since most people (I certainly do) prefer them for CQB distances and they're capable of much better accuracy at "reasonable" distances than most people think. Of course, what's reasonable to you might be different than others.
You could even put a magnifier on a swing away mount if you wanted to stretch it's range a bit. Of course, you'd still have to then go through the Aimpoint vs Eotech decision.
