The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Army Sniper here. I used .308. Very effective round. 800 meters, 1,000 shooter dependent.

Thanks for your service, Yankee.

Have you read American Sniper, by Chris Kyle? If not, I'd certainly recommend it. Even for those who aren't much of a reader, it's a good read, and I would imagine you would especially enjoy it since you're a fellow sniper.

I own it. Good read.

Didn't see one of these already. Share what you own and pictures if you like.

I just picked up a Glock 22, 40 caliber on Friday from Nashville Armory. I traded in a Smith & Wesson 357 Magnum 19-5 and an Iver Johnson TP22 straight up for it.

I'm going to pick up some accessories for it and ammunition this week.

I also own a Remington 22 rifle.

Rock River lower/ Bushmaster upper, EOTech 512, and some other goodies on it and an XD .40.

enjoy, don't have any glocks, but do like to shoot

Once you start, you'll keep adding new ones

Anyone on here have their handgun carry permit? If so, how long did it take to receive after giving your fingerprints?

5 weeks or so after you send it off.

Not sure if you've already sent it but

1) It improves time if you send a money order instead of a check

2) Additionally, try and put something between your fingerprint card and your photo ID so that they don't rub. It can cause the prints to smear

I've already paid my fees at the Dept of Safety, which also covered for the fingerprinting fee. They now do the prints on a computer screen and it's entered automatically. No old fashion black printing anymore. Did it yesterday. They said up to 90 days but I hope it's not that long

Wow that's pretty nice. We still have to do old fashioned prints.

They usually tell you 8-12 weeks but the typical time frame is closer to 4-6 weeks.

Got my fingerprints done at my cwp class because the guy was ex SLED (South Carolina Law Enforcement Division). Mailed it off and it took over 90 days in SC.

How long did they tell you that it would take? More than 90?

Said it would take 90 or a little less. Come to find out, there were a record number of applications the month I got mine and only two people worked in the CWP department in SLED. I also have an Arizona license in order to carry in Georgia and other states that SC doesn't allow you to. It only took 2 or 3 weeks.
