The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Sounds like a lot of people sitting on their hands. Can't believe it would take 90 days to accomplish that.

I called SLED to check on the status of my application and was on hold for around an hour. Eventually, I got fed up and hung up. Called the instructor of my class and asked him what the deal was. His response: "SLED lets the phone ring off the hook, they rarely answer." My tax dollars at work...

Ha, no. I've been wanting to get one and they are very difficult to get in CA. You have to show a need for it and the Sheriff gives them out at their discretion

Figured since I bought 2 more guns today I'd start a thread where people can share their armories

Here's my first new toy: Remington 700p TWS .308
With a Leupold Mark IV scope and Harris bi-pod legs
I have one just like this in all camo with a padded cheek piece. Mine also has the Mark 4 ER/T with the illuminated reticles.

Did the paperwork on the wife's and my CCPs the Friday before Labor Day. I think it took about 20-25 days for ours. Not bad at all.

My first addition, Glock 23 .40 went and did my paperwork and finger prints for my carry about 2 weeks ago, everyone I've talked to said it takes about right at a month to get them in.

Anybody ever duracoat/cerakote/etc a gun?

The first pistol I ever bought is an old Ruger P85. Its big, heavy, and ugly, but I love the old thing. After thousands of rounds it still runs like a sewing machine.

I've been thinking about dressing it up with duracoat. Probably something dark (black or gray) with orange accents....

Cerakoat is supposed to be the more durable of the two, but generally more expensive and isn't readily able to be done by yourself.

I just typically Krylon mine if they need it. But if I wanted something permanent, I'd go the Cerakoat route.

ETA: Joint Forces Enterprises does an outstanding job of the Cerakoat and helped do the Jack Carbine for BCM.

Appreciate it, what was the shooting qualification for your carry class?

We did 100 rounds

First 50 were practice

Last 50 were for score

I don't know how it was broken down but think you had to get a 70%?

Wasn't bad at all

Thanks. I've been thinking about letting Fighting Sheepdog take a crack at it.

Better get a .22 for plinking, or you'll burn through a ton of dollars, shooting .40cal
