I've got to get the new grips for that Kimber Pro I just got. Waiting on Brownells to get the Magpul 1911 grips in flat dark earth back in stock.

Haha, I've got a P85 that I'm the same way about. Weighs a ton but it was the first pistol I ever bought so I can't bring myself to get rid of it. Doesn't hurt that it shoots every time like your P89.

I'm actually thinking about Cerkote-ing the old thing. Restore the ol' girl...maybe in desert tan.

Wife and in-laws bought me a Kimber custom II .45. Hopefully going to the range tomorrow.

Wonder how much they'd knock off if I declined the Otis cleaning kit? (I've already got one)

All kidding aside my biggest issue would be the 16" barrel on an '06. I mean of course it'll still work but that strikes me as awfully short for that cartridge as a matter of efficiency compared to a .308.

There isn't a huge drop off in efficiency with a 16 like you would think. The Army's new compact sniper system calls for that length specifically. Long range accuracy is affected, but for most applications it's sufficient.

Knights, Larue and GAP all do a 16 with great effectiveness.
