How many interceptions did Jeremy Pruitt throw? Or Butch? Or Dooley? This is a common theme with Barnes accept it. Like I said yes he’s a good coach, I am grateful for him but he will never take us deep. That is obvious.
I’m not saying the smart move is to fire him now. I’m just saying we won’t ever go deep with him. You’re overreacting. Pruitt couldn’t recruit. That’s what hurt him. He brought in around 0 cbs and 0 talented QBs. Barnes brings in elite talent and elite coaches.
You’re going to lose more tournaments than you win. Every coach does. The idea that we need to move on is insane
This 100 times.!!Great group of kids that wore the orange and white this year. I’m not gonna dog them. They put more into this season than any of us can even imagine. I’m proud of them. Disappointed they lost but proud of every single one of them!
And I’ll say it, I’m proud to have Rick Barnes as our coach.
GBO!!
He had a hard fall early, never looked the same afterwards. I don’t know if he can, but if Santi can find a way to add the threat of a drive he could really be a great player. He had an off shooting night, but played hard as hell. I feel like Barnes went to “what had worked” all season, going small. But Michigan was the wrong team to do it with. Uros was having a great game and with him out we had no rebounding.
Love Fulky but he’s never been a good rebounder. Also people are quick to forget how good Michigan is from a talent standpoint. They have 8 top 100 guys, we have 5.
I think Gonzaga or Kansas would be much worse along with a few other teams. This was a middling Big10 team that just lost to IU. It was another golden opportunity to get to the sweet 16 and Tennessee choked, aint no bones about itWhen you ppl gonna realize Michigan was our worse possible matchup...come on
Analytics say mid range jumpers are bad odds in the modern game. We won a lot of games in the last month due to the three. A good coach says shoot through the slump. We had a bad night, and they had a great gameplan.Try to find a post in my entire history where I made that complaint. The first thing Phil Jackson did when he got to the Lakers was make them stop taking so many threes. It’s pretty basic coaching that if your shot isn’t falling you don’t keep jacking up the long ball.
Barnes has a long history of choking in the tourney. It's who he is and what he does. It's his "thing." He surprised me by choking even earlier than I expected this time.
He's probably not too far from retiring now anyways. He's good enough to maintain our basketball program as an attractive destination so we should retain him until he decides to hang it up. Don't want to see our basketball program turn into a dumpster fire like football did.
Dumb is seeing a coach fizzle out in the tournament year in and year out and expecting anything different to happen in the future. He’s made it out of the first weekend one time in his past 10 tournament appearances. That’s not indicative to you? That’s dumb. If you bring in elite talent and elite coaches, you can win a title.
Once again, you’re going to lose more tournaments than you win.
