I get that, but considering UK was hitting a high percentage of shots and most free throws, I don’t want them having 10 sec on the clock in a tie ballgame and last possession. They’ll get a shot off or either get fouled that sends them to the foul line. The odds were in UKs favor. I really didn’t think James had that great of a look shooting that three. Just think the 3 should’ve gone to DK or ZZ and be a little more patient. JMO.This makes no sense. You take the first decent look you can get. Miss it? Then extend the game by fouling. But you don’t take the clock all the way down. No guarantees that DK or ZZ get a remotely good look to tie it.
Knecht can be our go to guy to break a drought but others must score. Otherwise we won’t get to the final four. This has been the achilles heel of this team for the last 3 years, that ability for the entire team to be ice cold at the same time. In modern basketball you have to hit shots against a top 20 team, thats just the way it is. If the rest of the team had just hit 25% in the first half it they probably would have had the lead. DK earned player of the year carrying the entire team, they were too heavy today.
There was 10+ seconds left, brother. You let Knecht get open and give him the ball.Welcome to the thread. Knecht fell, and then was followed out into a double team. JJJ got the ball in the corner with us down by three. He took the shot. I don’t have a problem with that, or the goal tend that they reviewed and confirmed with an overhead camera.
That losing to Kentucky in basketball is genuinely shocking to me. Woulda been crazy to say that 10 years ago but here we are. I expect to beat their ass every time we play them. What’s so hard to comprehend there ???
