The Official #5 Tennessee @ #10 Kentucky Game Thread, 8:30 PM ET, ESPN

I think you are just looking for things to complain about on Volnation, I am entitled to an opinion either positive or negative. I post as much positive as negative. I call it how I see it, may not mesh with your perception of the game and that's perfectly ok!
The problem is : how you see it is way off. Stop and smell the roses.

One story said it has something to do with visiting teams not always having access to washing machines. So the dark unis hide the dirt. But that’s more baseball - “home whites”.

Football teams used to wear their colors home AND away. UT had to wear white jerseys in the 1969 Corton Bowl versus the ut Longhorns because black and white TVs couldn’t distinguish between their burnt orange and our amazing orange.
Vols fans in Aggieland who hopes to be at Reed Arena next Saturday night, bad knees permitting. As far as I’m concerned, it’s not burnt orange. It’s well-done brown.

And it's not like we got a poor version of KY. They played well for them. Dilly kid was a flame thrower. They shot really well. They had a good defensive scheme for Knecht. And we still won. Amazing.
If officials allow teams to hold DK on his cuts coming off screens more teams will do this. Officials have to create situations to allow player movement to create flow to the game. JJJ, ZZ, SV answered the bell last night at Rupp and silenced their critics for now. Will be interesting to see if those 3 have the same focus Wednesday night at home with LSU.

There are superstars then there are superstars playing for blue bloods. The refs will treat Knecht differently....especially on the road. Heck, we can't even get a home whistle most nights.

Last night was a confidence game for JJJ in particular and let's hope it stays that way. If we can string together the next 6 games where everyone in the starting lineup is in double figures that would be a good sign for March. Over the next 6 games, nothing is a given and that road game against A&M isn't going to be easy but would be excellent to have a run of wins before we face Auburn. At home vs LSU, road vs A&M, at Arkansas, home vs Vandy, at Missouri and at home vs A&M before the conference slate really gets tough. Last 4 games could determine the conference championship.

Winning at Rupp is a luxury and need to back up that win when they come to our house. I still can't believe we beat them in the manner we beat them. Great sign. We just need to prove we can do it again. Keep that tempo up the rest of the year. Dillingham was unconscious and there won't be any other night where he is shooting 70% FG/75% 3pt FG and Kentucky loses. He kept them in the game all night or otherwise we would have won by 25. Dillingham's defense was atrocious however. He gave up a ton on other end of the court. When Wagner and Big Z come back, they will continue to be an offensive force, but I doubt this Wildcat group goes far in the tournament given how they defend.

Cowardice Cal not showing up for the post game press conference says a lot about the program. Gotta take the good with the bad, and take your lumps.

I can’t imagine playing for a coward that wouldn’t participate in the post game press conference.

Would the players quit on him? It would be hard to give my all for a coach that is that big of a baby.

Last night was a heavyweight fight and had to be a juggernaut for television ratings. Every time we would seemingly put Kentucky on their heels ready to throw a knockout punch, they'd fight back.

I didn't get to watch but on the radio it sounded like a crazy environment.

Go Vols!

I thought I'd post as least once in this thread for the board monitors who flip through all the pages with a list of names since they have nothing else going on that conflicts with watching sports on television.

SI wrote that is Albert Dorsey for UT but there is a disagreement that it’s Jimmy Weatherford.
Thunder, that was my first UT game. I went to Legion Field as an Alabama fan because I grew up in Huntsville but my family and especially my father were all UT graduates. It was a great day and I left as a UT fan. If my aging brain still works correctly, I believe there was misidentification of the cover in that it was actually Mike Jones as the DB. The UA guy is their AA end Dennis Homan. Certainly Dorsey and Weatherford were the stars of that defensive backfield.

Rumors on uk campus that he is leaving the team. Not sure if it’s true but someone I know says he’s gone. We shall see.
Nice to see these teams that do a complete roster turnover have chemistry issues occasionally like Arkansas is doing and maybe Kentucky also. I recall Tscheibwe calling out his teammates last year for being too soft. Nice to support a program that has continuity and culture without drama.

What would you expect from an ex-Memphis Stater. Who now owns property in Nashville. lol

Loved that win and it was a thrilling game to watch, hate that
we will lose our #2 defensive rank metric.
We actually stayed at #2. Rutgers and Auburn aren’t far behind now tho. But who cares really. We know what our defense can do. It was just one of those games where our offense was gonna win the game.

In hindsight I was probably too hard on Aidoo. He did have a double double. This was a tough team to guard, especially going up against smaller quicker guys.

Yes. I’ve heard Mike Jones mentioned as well. Maybe Dorsey versus Jones is the primary debate. 1967 was just a hair early for me - I have no idea who that really is.

Yeah, not trying to be argumentative. I just remember when the issue came out I believe most thought it was Dorsey because of the three picks he had that day. All I know for sure was that I walked into Legion Field a bama fan and walked out a UT fan.
