Can’t believe I’m saying this after about the past 4 yrs of Tennessee basketball, but defense has to get better. Kenpom says Vols #2 rn, but past two games, struggling stay in front of the ball.

Sometimes team get hot.

We adjusted our defense late in the game when they didn't regress towards the mean (although in the last 3 minutes they certainly started to).

One observation: I know a lot of people look at Santi right now and think he’s a shell of his former self since he isn’t scoring like we are accustomed to seeing him score. Some have even lumped him in JJJ these last couple of games calling him a no show. To me, though, Santi is still making winning plays. He may not be scoring, but he is contributing in a positive way.

He did hit a crucial 3 on a missed FT by ZZ, a Aidoo rebound flipped out for a Vescovi THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

It may have been rough to watch, but it's wins like this that build confidence in the team. Winning on the road when blowing a lead and things not looking good late in the 2nd half is huge. It gives you the belief that you have the tools to win despite where you are and what the score is.

Tennessee got aggressive going to the hoop in the final 5 minutes and were able to even up the free throw attempts with GA at 23. They gotta be more aggressive consistently going forward.

Strong 15-1 finish for the W. So hard to win on the road in college hoops no matter how bad the home team is. Makes no sense. Shouldn’t matter as much as it does. But it’s been that way for the 60 years I’ve been watching. It’s one of the forces of the universe like gravity and electromagnetism. Can’t be explained. Just exists.

They should have pressed more in the MSU game, since that was their achilles we found. I guess we should have defended the three more in this one--I never saw a team so hot--but maybe I have--when they play the VOLS everyone can shoot threes, even teams that never do.

Tennessee 73 possessions 85 points. Ga 81 possessions 79 points. Just 4 turnovers in the second half after that 10 in the first. I don't like the fact they beat us on the offensive boards they should never be able to do that not a strong rebounding team. Big win this would've been a horrible loss.

Georgia was 14/28 from 3 at one point towards the end of the game. Has to be demoralizing to lose to us after the stretch they had in the 2nd half..

Yep. that 14/28 thought ran through my mind and they missed I think 4 in a row in the final 1:30. That shows you when you get out of that zone they were in and start thinking too much that little twitch will cause it to rim out. Yep, they were in classic choke mode.
