The Official #6 Tennessee @ Vanderbilt Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, SEC Network

Quad 1 road is top 75. Vandy is at 42 and moving up.
This loss doesn't hurt as bad as people think. It's just further proof we lack quality depth. Gainey can't run the point when Zeigler has to sit. Besides PG play, out front court depth is almost just as concerning. A tight whistle, physical front court will cause us to play a lot of small ball and get exposed badly.

Serious question---Do the Refs rotate at half time or do they stay in the same position for the entire game.
Only reason I ask is because today the fouls at one end of the court were called in abundance to the other end. Tennessee did not make it to 1-1 the first half and Tennessee had 9 to 10 fouls called on them. In the 2nd half, I noticed it was completely opposite of the first half.
This is not the first time I have noticed it as it seems that one half of the court is always weighted for more foul calls than the other.

Yeah, because they beat us. If they loss this game they were on their way to being a quad 2 for anyone that won against them at home. We just made their season. Now we have to root for them the rest of the year.

Tennessee is not a top 15 team and I doubt seriously they make it past the first weekend in March. Not an emotional post because I've felt this way for awhile now. Lanier is no Knecht and this team don't have the quality depth or offensive firepower to compete with top teams. It's a rival so these games happen but I don't see a single chance Tennessee can compete with Auburn, Kentucky, or Florida a second time.
Overreact much?

Obviously the defense was subpar for a lot of the game. Other big disappointments, continuing to foul 3 point shooters. Both of those were killer with being ZZ second foul and second one 4 point play to end first half. Lanier has to value the ball, his turnovers almost always lead to points the other way and we're huge for vandy.

Chaz, Igor, Dubar, Cade, Felix are all playing their first year in SEC though. Last year most the team had played a full year or more in SEC already.

But 2 road losses and we’re suddenly “not top 15” is crazy talk. There’s only 1 SEC team clearly better than us, Auburn.
Being overrated and ranked where you are is two different things. We are overrated. Lots of other teams in the SEC have more transfers and guys not playing in the SEC a full year, one just beat us. I don't blame Tennessee for being overrated, injuries and guys not being good enough from the portal does that. It is what it is.

How so? Do we have depth? Can someone besides Ziegler run the point effectively? Been saying this for weeks. That #1 ranking was fools gold so it's not shocking. You have that much of an advantage in the paint and couldn't capitalize on it. Imagine playing teams with good front courts.

Yes, I said could be, and in response to someone commenting on my comment you said

If you're going to laugh at my comment at least get it right, "wise-ass". I never necessarily said this loss IS a quad 1 loss, did I?

Vandy could end up losing the rest of their games for all we know.
My original comment was really just highlighting the fact we just lost to someone with a Net in the 40's.

You’re right. That was a mistype on my end. My bad. But I never called you a wise ass so I’m not sure why you’re quoting that. I said that you made a wise ass comment. Your reading comprehension comment wasn’t necessary. You could’ve simply pointed out the mistake. In any case, I wish you the best.

But I don’t really see Vandy losing the rest of their games, and I feel that the quad 2 insinuation was just bait, and my first mistake was engaging in the first place.

You said they aren’t a top 15 team, you’re wrong is the point.

Now still got almost half the season to play, and our depth is a weakness. So we may end up not being a top 15 team. But right now it’s a crazy take to say those 16 wins are out the door and we’re not Top 15.

All good. I wasn't necessarily trying to be a wise-ass. Just frustrated because people kept misreading my comment.
All apologies if it offended you. Patience is low with that Tennesse bed crapping and all . 🍻's

That’s a non-sequitur. Maybe you’re just an emotional guy or gal
