These guys aren’t going to quit. They may struggle with JJJ being out. But they aren’t going to quit.If you take this team over the last two weeks, I think it’s 3 losses with the possibility of 4.
Need to right this ship now before the team quits on the season and is just trying to get the season over. If they can do that, they’ve got a good chance of making a run in March. But there are so many questions and holes in this team right now, it’s going to be a slog to get things back.
None of us know that. We get Alabama, Arkansas, and Missouri at home where we’re 26-1 over the last two years. Play the games and see where the chips fall.
No, but just look at the performance over the last 2 weeks. Certainly hope you are right and will be the first to eat crow, but tonight was not encouraging in any way whatsoever.
Ok then. I guess we all are in agreement to suspend all posting in the basketball forum until March? The last two weeks included wins over a top 10 Texas team, and a top 25 Auburn team. Sandwiched and followed by a disappointing FLORIDA loss and a horrible Vanderbilt loss. None of it really matters. That’s what posters have been screaming here for months: “cAnT wIn iN mArCh.” Ok, so let’s wait until … maybe March? Before we make assessments on where this team falls in the TENNESSEE history books.
Losing to Vanderbilt is unacceptable in any sport. Period. But it will not matter in the end. We have seen the movie before and it always ends the same. Nice season. Disappointing end. This year will be no different. It's what a Barnes team does.
Our problems have been the same for a few years. We just do not have the Bigs need to play other teams have have talented Bigs. Also, Lady year was the first time in years when we ha a competitive point guard. We are still weak at those positions. As I have said before, I really hope that one of our 6-10\6-11 Freshmen coming in next year can play better than what we have had in years. I also believe we will have 1 or 2 competitive point guards coming in next year. We will be young, but I believe we will have the base for a better team in the future.Word is out. Tn can’t play physical. When referees let them play Tn doesn do well. Barnes weakness is he la good man who won’t get in officials face. He also doesn’t like players getting too emotional with contact. Thus Plav loss of playing time

Could it happen? Absolutely. Team has the talent and the skill to make it happen and get on a run. That’s what I’m hoping and cheering for, just like you.
Will it happen? Like you said, let’s let it play out. But there are some cracks showing and teams are catching up to our players and system. What will tell us what this team really has is the next few weeks and their response to this adversity, most of which they put on themselves.
These skinny weak 6'10 or 6'11 freshmen are not helpfulOur problems have been the same for a few years. We just do not have the Bigs need to play other teams have have talented Bigs.
