The Official #6 Tennessee vs. LSU Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, SEC Network

I posted a couple times but our post play is our primary weakness. LSU had too many inside points and hurt is on the glass. Plus I’d like to see us make more of our foul shots.

We won by 20 so, Go Vols!
75% free throws is far from our worst this season, but like you I think they’re capable of better

bama’s remaining schedule looks very manageable…we might have to win out in order to win the conference. If we keep playing like this then anything’s possible.

I don’t know. They have to go to Kentucky, Florida, and Ole Miss and host us. It’s not the easiest schedule, but certainly better than what we face.

I stand corrected - was going off of what was shown on the tv but it must have been a team other than bama.

Seems to me that bama’s weakness is little rim protection / post play. Florida might have a roster that could cause them trouble?

Ky can score with them but can they slow bama’s scoring?

I think it was the timing of the misses while LSU made their run. I’m thinking about March as every possession counts, including foul line.

I am way thought 80% should be the benchmark and your guards must be clutch. Mashack missed tow when we were in the bonus and Santi missed one. I cant recall if Knecht missed but think he made four in the first half.

Not trying to be negative, but don’t think we will win out. If we go 7-2 we will be in the mix. That would put us at 14-4. May not be enough to secure the 1 seed, but we shall see. We need to beat Auburn at home and that will give them 3 and hope someone else will get hot and beat them. I’m betting that Bama and Carolina will lose at least twice more too.

Barnes tolerated DK going 1 on 5 during that 13-0 LSU run. Sometimes he has to take responsibility. Call a TO & change the offense.
Barnes did a nice job calling a time out vs KY instead of waiting for TV timeout. I remember the possession you are referring to as Knecht was determined to go to the rim regardless of the situation.

Bama,? Okay. Good with that. Paris and his Gametubes? I don’t know…

Santi needs to shoot the ball or he needs to sit. No excuse to pass up the shots he turned down tonight. Gainey played major minutes tonight because of this. Gainey played well.
Carr can't match Vescovi on defense, but if he starts hitting shots, that might be enough to snag more of Vescovi's minutes. Really didn't expect this from Vescovi when he decided to saddle up for one more ride at UT. Thought he'd make it a season to remember. I also felt the attention defenses were giving to Knecht would open things up for Vescovi. Thought he'd put up some really good numbers, but it's as if he's just turned spectator on the offensive end. He's just lost all aggressiveness offensively. Very disappointing, but he's playing well on defense so there's that.

Everyone needs to remember, that A@M and Arkansas were pre season top 5 picks in the conference. These games will not be easy and they will be grind it out games. But if we truly are the best team in the conference we need to put our big boy shorts on and get these next two road games. Defense and rebounding needs to travel for these next two. Santi needs to shoot the ball. I think everyone else will be okay.

I'd take 7-2 right now and be thrilled. I think we go 6-3 but honestly, I wouldn't be shocked at 5-4 down the stretch.
