I was watching the game with the 17 point deficit in the first half. I'm assuming Barnes didn't draw that up.

I don’t get why Mashack fouled with 4.2 seconds to go when we were up by 3. Make them have to take a shot and worse case we go to OT. Vescovi choked and lane violation hurt too. I guess they expected the shot not to go in and were playing for the win and not OT. ZZ should not have fouled out. Too many mental mistakes at end after coming back from being 17.

I can’t blame Santi, him & Key carried the team to even get the lead in the second half.

ZZ has to be smarter with 4 fouls and the lead.
Awaka has to know up by 2 and Mizzou has no timeouts you can’t have a lane violation there.

And Mashack has to meet the ball before the half court line.

Still a shot like that rarely goes in. But being down our 2 5 stars is going to make the rest of the season hard. We’ll be lucky if we are in games this late with the stretch of teams we have left on the schedule.

Vescovi had solid games against Vanderbilt and Missouri, though. It sucks that he fumbled the bag at the line, sure, but he was good otherwise and neither game should ever have gotten to that point.

Yep. You foul with under 2 seconds and force them to miss a FT and try and get the rebound. Over 4 seconds is just too much time to give them free points.

Nice observation. Dennis Gates probably didn’t draw up giving up the lead in the second half.

Look, I get being frustrated. I’m as ticked off as anyone, but if you’re gonna critique the coach, at least bring a legit criticism to the table. Your take that we weren’t at all prepared for Mizzou’s offense doesn’t align with what actually took place. They made a lot of tough, contested shots.

If that's what you define as "flat out suck," then almost everyone save five or six teams in Division I "flat out sucks." That's preposterous. Have fun with that.
