The Official #7/#9 TENNESSEE (10-2) vs. #6/#8 Ohio State (10-2) Thread - Zone Edition - Ohio Stadium - Columbus, OH - December 21 @ 8:00 - ABC/ESPN

For the love of all things holy. Stop saying “out coached”. That’s just some bull **** that people say when they don’t understand what is happening on the football field
Former ****ing players are saying the same thing you dumb ****. They were out schemed on both sides of the ball. Chip Kelly made Banks look like a high school coach.

Now go away or I shall taunt you a 2nd time.

please explain in detail how he was out coached.
What scheme did he use. What scheme did he not use and why was that a mistake? What scheme differences would have changed the outcome had he used them instead?

And we’re going to need a lot more specifics than “he should blitz more”. Really? In what situations? And who should have blitzed? Who should cover for that blitz on the back side? And how does that change the 3 rd level alignment?

I was once sitting in an office at the school where my children once played high school football. They had just hired a guy who is widely regarded as the best high school coach to ever coach in Tennessee. He has over 15 state championships. One of the other parents trying to sound cool said the words “out coached” and he laughed. He said that is a term used by morons who know nothing of football and kids making excuses for their failure to execute.

It’s beyond moronic for people who watch a game to say the guy who spent 50 hours a week on it got out coached when they can’t even tell you the name of the base defense.

My high school football coach had an office larger than the teachers’ lounge, but it was in the windowless bowels below the gymnasium. The plus to this was that it was cool during the warmer months. My old school building didn’t have air conditioning, except for the administrators’ offices.

Edit: Yes, he held meetings there with faculty and parents of players.

guys name is Gary Rankin.
Look him up.
He’s forgotten more football than any “out coached” dumb **** on vol nation will ever know

Haha he was a great coach at Riverdale and then Alcoa. Always seems to get the best players in the area at the school he was coaching. Maybe just a coincidence.
