The Official #7 Tennessee @ #12 Georgia Game Thread, 7:30 PM ET, ABC

To me, the most important thing tonight is starting fast, knowing that UGa is going to be flying out of the gate, and taking what should be a jacked up crowd out of the game. Get a quick stop and score first, or if we're receiving get a scoring drive on the first possession. If we get down two scores early, it might be a very long night.

Take care of the ball, gap integrity on defense, and avoid stupid penalties that put us behind the chains.

That opening drive is going to set the tone for the Vols offensively. Can’t come up empty handed on it. 3 or preferably 7 but move the ball and get points on the board.

I love the Vols as much as anyone. That being said, I also watch a lot of football and look at these things objectively like an analyst would, taking emotion out of it when picking a winner. I will pull for them as hard as I always do, but I think we’re going to walk into a hornet’s nest tonight and get our teeth kicked in. I’m not going to post here all day and go back and forth with anyone who wants to call me a troll, tell me to go root for another team, etc. it’s not worth it.

If we can play well-enough to stay in the top 12 on Tuesday, that will be a win in my book.
No worries, Vol brother. I’m a bit torn, thinking UGA may come out quickly, cause an early turnover or special team play, and get up two scores.

My hope is TN gets a quick score from a splash play. It could be a good day if we gets a lead going into 4th quarter. IMO, it’s more likely UGA blows out TN vs. TN blowing out UGA.

With that said, you’re not a Nega or troll for posting a rational opinion.

Let’s hope my 2nd comment comes to fruition and takes the bite from the dogs. I despise Jawja!

Go Vols!

I can objectively say that I don’t see Georgia’s offense doing much more than giving Nico good field position all night. They simply do not have an O-line capable of stopping our Dline rotation of impending doom. They just don’t.
We just need to keep pounding the rock and not try to get too cute. The UGA d will start wearing down soon enough. And if Nico can hit a long shot or two, watch out.
Vols 32
UGA 6

If you're watching GameDay now you can already see ESPN lobbying for Alabama and Ole Miss. Asked all the panel who's the best team in SEC and most said Alabama, 2 said Ole Miss. And Rece Davis opened the show calling this elimination game. Screw ESPN and the committee.

So they are disrespecting all the SEC teams that begin with the letter "T" who BTW are the three teams that only have 1 loss in the conference at this point.

This is our time to end the Georgia streak and hopefully get one step closer to a playoff birth..everything is on the line this evening and I know Heupel will have our guys ready to go

I've watched UGA play 4 times this year and kept up with their other games. Their offense has been on a downward trend. I rather have our defense than theirs.

Defense wins the day. Vols by this - much.

It is just typical BS that ESPN does to get the Fan Base riled up. Alabama, Georgia still the darlings. Saban being on set is a factor, as he sends subliminal messages throughout his comments to the Playoff Committee.
The Texas SOS is 100th which is a valid point. They have some games left to play.
Ole Miss is in neutral and the Committee is waiting on the Tennessee Georgia game to possibly sneak them in if they can. Too Crowded of a field and Lane is not a sweetheart of a coach.
Tennessee just has to leave no doubt. Win out and win the Conference. Leave the Committee no choice.

Some may disagree with me, but I truly feel that Tennessee is playing the long game to the CFP. IMO, they have not peaked out yet and it is coming. Keep punching with consistency and catch fire at the right time.

I think the Nico thing is a hoax. CJH hopefully is playing and possum. Time will tell.

BTW, I hate to say it but Sampson should go to the draft and I expect him to do so at the end of the season. Not about the money, but he deserves it. He is what you expect of a player at any level and the NFL.

If you did not see the Gameday piece focused on him it is worth the view. He is Heisman worthy.

I hope our offensive line is ready for UGA’s defensive line moving before the snap. They always shift which causes our offensive line to jump. Other teams have used that this season against us. It’s minor, but can be a drive killer.

I believe points will be difficult to come by for both teams...our D needs to keep them out of the endzone and force FG attempts vs TDs. Hopefully we can manufacture some points from special teams or a defensive score. I expect them to load the box and try to force Nico to throw into tight man coverage to beat us. You know they will be head hunting since he was injuried last week.

Buckle up...it's gonna be a physical game.

The Vols need to strike first, and continue to score so the Bulldogs don’t get a big lead because it’s a heavyweight task to come back from more than 14 points or higher vs the Georgia Bulldogs.
Also, a lot less pressure on Nico if the Vols can prosper running the football, make less mistakes, and finish drives by scoring touchdowns.

The defense will need to get pressure on Beck, otherwise he is most likely to have a great game passing like Tebow had in the golden Tebow lead Gators era.
