The Official Boston Red Sox Thread

Beltre starting to relax at the plate, this guy could have a huge season...Ortiz is looking better, long way to go before I'm confident in him...Pedrioa is the mother&*cking man!

The Sox have really looked good in their last 3 games against the LAA, going for the sweep tonight. Would love to keep the momentum going into the NYY series this weekend. We have 3 solid pitchers going in that series, I'd love to take 2/3 with them atleast. I really think our starting rotation is starting to get in a groove, we just need Beckett to step it up. IF everyone in rotation would pitch like their capable of we could have the best rotation in baseball, maybe besides SF's. The next few week's are going to be tough, we will find out if this team will be able to contend or not IMO.

Ortiz is pretty useless.

Nice showing by Lackey.

Pretty much. A lot of upside too, Daisuke has the potential to be good, and Buchholz is well on his way.

Imagine going into a playoff series with Beckett, Lester, Lackey, Dice-K, & Buchholz all in form!? Who would you leave out? Of course your top 3 would be Beckett, Lester, Lackey but after that you'd have to choose between Dice-K & Buchholz.

Im actually not worried about our pitching at all, Beckett will find his form & if our bullpen struggles you can always pick up an arm at the deadline. My worries are with the offense, we always hit good at home but the past 2 year's its been the road that has really held us back during the season.

Right now Daisuke would be left out.

And he isn't impressing anyone right now.

?

I guess you don't remember last year. Boston didn't lose against NY until August. Look how that turned out.

This isn't really indicative of anything besides Josh Beckett's loss of control.

I know it's just mid-May & I'm usually not one to panic early but I'm saying it now, the Sox are DONE! No way thet salvage the season & even come close to sniffing the playoff's.

Not even close to being done.

As much as I would like to agree with you, it's a marathon not a sprint.

There are some issues, but nothing so severe that it puts Boston out of the hunt. Everything can be turned around.

I'd really like to have the optimism you guys have but this team just has to many problems that needs to be corrected.

Yes it's a long season but getting 4 game swept at home by a AL east contender and getting beat by football scores by your bitter rival at Fenway historically isnt a sign of good things to come.
If this was the AL West i wouldn't panic but unfortunatly you are in a division where two of the teams ahead of you have pitching staffs that hinder long losing streaks.
Good luck.

Lester normally does deal after April.

Beckett is a headcase.

Yea Lester gets better as the season goesl along.

Beckett needs to learn to win when he doesn't have his best stuff. Missing up in the zone too much.
