The Official Boston Red Sox Thread

Red Sox are DESTROYING the Indians right now.

Ortiz, Salty, Crawford, & Pedroia have all homered. Crawford is 4-4 & a triple away from the cycle, if it wasnt for an error by the RF earlier Crawford would already have it.

This team is murdering folks right now.

Crawford with another big day. Along with about everyone else.

Aceves has looked good in his 2 starts, wouldnt mind moving him into the 5 spot once Lackey comes back. Lackey is scheduled to make a start May 31st

Sox put Darnell McDonald on the DL & called up Josh Reddick who had been killing pitching in AAA. Lowrie got the day off & Sutton started at SS. Crawford is 4-5.

Game just went into a rain delay.

Enjoying watching tonight's game with Sam Summer in hand. Another good start by Wake. Ells with another HR. Great 3rd inning to give a nice margin. I would love to see a sweep of the Tigers...particularly if that means a win on Sunday. I'll be sitting in Comerica park to take in the action.

Red Sox are the hottest team in baseball right now, our offense has exploded! Wake & Aceves have gave us 4 quality starts. W/ the Yanks lose tonight the Sox are in 1st place!

Buchholz going tomorrow, Beckett on Sunday. We have a chance to sweep the Tigers.

Lackey suppose to be back June 5th.

Enjoy the game, hopefully they will get the sweep for ya.

Crawford has his batting average up to .245, he has been on fire as of late.

After this we got a 6 game homestand against Oakland/Chicago, gotta like the chances of rolling on the way to our roadtrip that starts a Yankee Stadium.

If our top 3 can keep pitching the way they have been this team can stay on a roll for a while. This team is very very dangerous right now.

I think I read that Crawford is 9-12 in the last 3 games. He is def getting more comfortable in this lineup. I like him batting 6th right now behind Ortiz since Drew is out.

Gahlee I have a couple questions for you, what do you think the Sox will do w/ Lowrie next season?

You know the Sox want to try & make Iglesias the starting SS in '12 w/ all the money they put in him so far but I love the job Lowrie is doing. He cant play 3B b/c of Youk & cant play 2B b/c of Pedroia & I dont think he would like being a utility player w/ the talent he has. Is the only option to trade him?

Also, what is your opinion on the RF situation next season. Drew will be a FA, do the Sox use Reddick or Kalish in RF next season? Kalish might have to have surgery on his shoulder & Reddick is really developing in AAA.

1 more, what do you think of putting Aceves as the 5th starter once Lackey is back? Or would Wake be a better option? Aceves has pitched really good in his 2 outings but so has Wake. I dont see Dice-K coming back this season, he might have to have season ending surgery.

When Iglesias is ready it's his job, however until then you stick with Jed. Not sure if trading him is what's best for Boston. I would try and keep him.

Is there a bigger waste of space and money than Drew? You gotta think his run here is coming to an end, Reddick and Kalish are both promising players for a fraction of the cost.

I stay with who is pitching well, either Wake or Acives. They have a lot of money invested in Lackey so you would expect him to return to the rotation over them.

I'm more worried about the pen, Jenks and Wheeler are gonna have to put in some work for this team, Lackey as well, the offense can't maintain this pace forever.

Daisuke.

Or Slackey.

Well, I got screwed out of getting to watch the Becket - Verlander matchup tomorrow. Actually, the nation gets screwed out of it as well because ESPN has exclusive MLB airing rights tomorrow night when they pitch (and to my knowledge, it won't be that game). Becket and Verlander were going to pitch the 1:05 game that I'm going to tomorrow, but Buccholtz got pushed to that game, with Becket pitching the late game (7:05).

Still looking forward to the game...maybe I'll try to stick around for the late game as well....

Edit: Nevermind about that...wife informs me that sticking around for the nightcap is not an option tomorrow. Oh well..at least I get to see the Sox in game 1. Hopefully the bats stay alive for the Sox. I wonder how the double header will affect game 1 starters?

2 games today, hopefully the Sox can get the sweep. We got our 2 hottest pitchers on the mound in Buchholz & Beckett.

At this rate, nothing is slowing them down.

Ortiz w/ a pinch hit HR to put the Sox up 4-3!! Hopefully Papelbon can get through the 9th clean so we can get the W.
