The Official Boston Red Sox Thread

Ellsbury's first 3B of the year last night. Odd.

Not many triples are hit in Fenway because of the construction of the park but with his speed you would think he would have a few more than that.

Youk has the night off after being hit in the back last night, he has also had hip & ankle problems this season.

Crawford ran the bases again today, looks like he could be back very soon. Question is do you bring him back for 2-3 games before the AS break or just wait until after to give him extra rest?

Buchholz is going to see a back specialist tomorrow in N.C.

A-Gon was named AL player of the month for June.

Nova Scotia Day at the park, I wonder how many folks made it down. It's quite a haul through the North Woods, although about 1/2 the distance of that from Halifax to Toronto.

I can't wait until they get the overnight ferry going from Halifax to Boston.

One more question.

Is it hard to find tickets in 3s on the street?

I figured it might be since the seating in Fenway is in rows of 4 on the field box level.

Is the whole field-level box rows of four? Or, does it increase as you go up in rows? If it is, then you'll have a hard time getting 3. The right-field roof box isn't bad and that is more than rows of 3. Maybe you can check on the field-level seats/row....

I can't remember for sure but last year I sat in RF box 93 and it was a row of like 20 or so.

I just know down closer to the field it's the rows of 8 with the rail in-between it so it splits it into 4s.

Where exactly should I go again? Sorry for all the questions just trying to figure it all out.

Assuming you're taking the train, go to the prudential station, and walk towards the park, theres Boylston and Ipswich streets running parallel to the mass pike. Lots of foot traffic on gamedays, that's a good place to start, and just work up towards the park . Should get what you need there.

There are honestly people all over. The big crowds are right by the ballpark, so going a bit away may make it easier to find the ticket salers. If you walk from the Kenmore T stop to the park, you'll see 20+ people selling (though I don't recommend this...just making my point that there are a lot of people selling). If you go around the back, toward Boylston where JTrain said, you will see a fair number back there. It is also less busy. Basically, don't try to buy in the mass of people on Lansdowne right by the park..walk down Lansdowne and then curve around the back side of Fenway toward Ipswich. Back there it will be less busy, but there will be people selling. JTrain may have a specific "sweet spot" in mind..not sure.

Last year we just took a pedicab down to Yawkey and they let us out there. I'm guessing no tickets to be found there.

You'd be close. As TT said, just move a short distance away from the park and you'll find someone.

& now Lester goes down w/ a injury, could be out 2 weeks. This is starting to remind me of last year

Lester has been put on the DL, will have a MRI tonight.

Youk starting at 1B tonight w/ Gonzalez getting rest due to a "stiff neck"

Navarro at 3B

Crawford wont be back until after the AS against the O's, he will make a couple rehab stints in the minors.

Sox just went back to back to back w/ HRs (Ortiz, Reddick, Salty), add in Pedroia, Ellsbury, & Gonzalez HRs it makes 6 the Sox have hit tonight. The Yankees are also losing which will put the Sox back into 1st place.

Don't feel like browsing back, when are you going to be up in the old town?

Hopefully the 22-24.

I may have to push it back later to August or September because I just enrolled in a flight school in Murfreesboro so I've gotta move out and all that good stuff later this month.

Sox put up 8 runs in the bottom of the 1st against the O's. Pedroia extended his hitting streak to 10 games & Ortiz had a 3 run HR.
