The *OFFICIAL* Brandon Spikes thread (merged)

We've been to the top and been successful long before the gators got there. I acknowledge the gators recent success and respect their accomplishments on the field but have no use for classless trolling garbage such as you.

I notice your tagline under your avatar says "Calling it like it see it." Well, that is exactly what I am doing, even if it makes me classless trolling garbage in your eyes.

Just for the record, I'm not concerned. This is nothing more than another envious, emotional overreation. Calm down and take a deep breath- everything will be fine.

There's no overreaction on my part. There is however an "anything goes as long as we win" attitude on behalf of the UF staff/AD and the fans. So don't worry, it's your call.

I'm sure no coaches will show that action of Spikes to parents of recruits and talk about the lack of control and discipline Urban has with his kids. How he isn't ensuring that his players learn that certain behavior is unacceptable. I mean, hell if I were a mom I'd love for my kid to play for a guy who condones this type of behavior and has an arrest record off the field second to none nationally. So you're right. Nothing to worry about.

Well you and the rest of the UF are alone in how you see it.
How does it feel to be outclassed by Oregon?

I am unconcerned. There will be no shortage of recruits and championships. You might want to spend your time worrying about something more important.

Everything always comes back to Tebow. Let me say this, what Spikes did was wrong. He should have been suspended for the entire Vandy game, if not more. Gator nation should not and does not condone this - no matter what happened previously in the game.

A one game suspension would have been appropriate. I'm just amused at the ridiculously excessive emotional reaction on the part of you Vol fans.

A one game suspension would, in my view, have been more appropriate. I think more than that is stretching it a little. But a half game isn't so weak as to be unreasonable, is my point. Its within the range of reasonable.

Otherwise, my Gator brethren state most Gator fans' position pretty well, I think.

Agree, but folks here aren't thinking clearly and reasonably. I think the overreation from Vol fans regarding this Spikes thing comes from pent up frustrations about UF's dominance over their beloved program.

How about the reaction of the rest of the country including sports journalist? Oh, I forgot; LG says that comes with being on top. Even though he has not cites similar examples.

this isn't the nfl. college players should be held to a higher level of sportmanship.

Judging by Lil' Timmy's comments, it appears that Corch Meyer has finally rubbed off on him enough to justify a wrongful act for the sake of revenge, and 'winning at all costs'. I wonder, what would Jesus do, Lil' Timmy?

In theory, I wish that were true. But I think we have to realize at this point that BCS conference teams are basically the minor leagues for the NFL. And I mean that much more generically than this incident. I'm speaking in terms of the money, the notoriety, the marketing. All of it.

If he were not a Gator there would be far less or even no indigation on the part of Vol Nation.

Has nothing to do with what color uniform he had on.
I'm sure that all who saw him do that were indignant irregardless of what team they pull for, except maybe you.

pathetic attitude. the old "every one else is cheating, so we should too." does it bother you your football players can't read at a HS level? what about all the guys who don't make it to the nfl? does it not matter to you that these players represent your university and shame the academic side?

Me too. I'm sure CUM got mad at Spikes and chewed him out.......something like 'How could you have done such a terrible thing like that. I can't imagine you got caught like that dummy'.

I really like Tim Tebow alot. This is a joke that he defended the actions of Spikes.

Spikes played like the dirty FSU thugs who tried to injure Florida's RB....
