Just remember . . . you have to be in the playoffs to lose in the playoffs.

What the heck is going on? Tim Hudson has only given up 1 run through the first two innings?!?

Franceour just hit a laser beam HR. Braves lead 5-4 going to the 9th. Hold your breath.

Great job by Smoltzy.I am really concerned about our pitching.I think we can produce runs pretty easy this year.I just don't know with John aging and Hampton out for the year, the Braves have got to be bringing in some future star pitchers.I think the young guy from Florida Marlins is doing a bang up job.I hope the Braves go after David Price of Vanderbilt one day, he's fast and accurate and has been named player of the week a few times this year.He is also a local boy.

That game flew by . . . barely took 2 hours. I turned on the TV at 9:15 just in time to see the handshakes at the end. :banghead:

Thompson looks good through 4 innings. They just flashed a graphic saying that the Braves pitching staff has given up no earned runs in the last 18 innings.

So much for the pitching woes.

Even though it was a loss, I'm still encouraged. We knew the bullpen was going to be shaky, but finally the starters look like they're coming around.

Think maybe Smoltz has taken over the unofficial leadership role in the dugout in leu of Mazzone? He'd be a great choice for a pitching coach in the future.

Smoltz throws a complete game shutout. Thompson throws 6 innings of 1 hit ball. Sosa has a decent outing. Davies just gave up 1 run in a complete game.

Finally . . . The starters are coming around. :toast:

:superman: Hudson was nasty today. Beat the Mets with only two regulars in the lineup.

Believe that's 3 complete games out of the last 4 by the Braves. Great going guys! :dance2:

Great job by Hudson and Andrew Jones.Hats off to to former (sorely missed) Tommy Glavine.Great pitching.

:( Stupid FSN was supposed to show the Braves, instead we get the Preds... don't get me wrong, I like the Preds, but on TV? I'd rather watch the Braves.

You'd be depressed if you could see it. Down 3-0; Soriano has taken Smoltz deep twice (neither was a bad pitch).
