The Official Braves Thread Of Volnation

I miss the good ole days when Ted owned everything and the Braves played 162 times a year on TBS/Sportsouth.
For sure!

The bullpen just sucks out loud. :shakehead: Cox just has no consistent answer in the 7th and 8th inning. Looks like they are going to have to make a move if they want to contend.

:banghead: They're doing it again!?!? Some bullpens put out fires. These guys should be arrested for arson.

Yeah . . . To be fair, the Mets had the benefit of an error, a passed ball and a couple of cheap hits. But what I wouldn't give for somebody who could come in out of that bullpen to stike somebody out.

Betemit tried to save us with a solo shot in the top of the 11th......but Reitsma gave up a solo shot in the bottom......so on they go. Atlanta is about out of pitchers! (Maybe thats a good thing)

Great game.Critical series so early in the year.We are losing ground fast.

I must admit that i'm starting to get worried about the braves. Has MLB cancelled the buy yet? I'm still hoping that arthur blanke buys the team...maybe then we can go out and get a pitcher.

Anybody see the play that just happened. The Mets catcher and Bobby Cox got ejected on the same play for different reasons. The Umpires botched it all the way around.

I read this morning that he was day to day. Apparently he slid into home on Friday night right over the top of a bat and he hurt his back.

I seen that play friday nite, i thought he hurt his back on a home run swing and miss

I think you're probably right that that's where the real problem came from, but it said this morning that sliding across the bat had also caused him some problems. He's had recurring back problems for a couple of years.

Between his bat speed and the way he throws his body around in the outfield, you're right. It's a wonder he hasn't been hurt more.

The bats are hot for the Braves today. It is good to see the long balls today.I wonder if Smoltz will go the entire game?

He's on 3 days rest and it's 8-1, so I doubt he'll be in there much longer.

Surely the bullpen can hold them now! The Braves lost 10 one run games and had the lead in 8.Is that right?

Yeah, it's something crazy like that. That's the one thing I'm holding onto. Eventually, their luck has to turn around a little in the close games.

That was great. :eek:lol:

Here's some great news . . . With today's ejection, Bobby Cox edges within 5 heave-ho's of 2nd place on the all time list. :focus:

John McGraw - 131
Leo Durocher - 124
Bobby Cox - 119
Earl Weaver - 97
Frank Frisch - 86
