One more game for LA and it's a sweep! :banghead:
I think the Dodgers are playing with a lot of confidence right now.

A fantastic day for the Brave faithful would be the Braves sweeping their double header and the Mets losing theirs. :cross:

You might want to tune back in . . . Laroche just hit a pinch hit 3 run double off the wall to make it 10-7. They are at least making it interesting.

Another program alert!!!

Giles just hit a 2 run shot to make it a 1 run game. Braves have put 7 runs on the board in the 7th inning . . . and there's still only one out.

easley seals the deal again with another three run shot in the 9th. tony clark hitting .164 hit 2 homers and went 4/5. davannon led off with a home run. dbacks win 9-3 and they are the first team to sweep the braves in a 4 game series at turner field i believe.

Bad day to be a Braves fan!Crap!

Just got back from the game. Good starting pitching, a couple of long balls and a 1-2-3 9th inning. It was like old times.

I don't think that will happen at least until the sale of the franchise is complete. Does anybody know where they are in that process?

It is pretty obvious that they need LOTS of bullpen help, at least one more offensive weapon, and probably another starting arm unless Horacio Ramirez gets it together pretty quickly. I just don't see them shopping the market until the franchise deal is done.

On another note, I'm going to the Red Sox series this weekend, probably the Saturday day game. The pen will probably blow a 4-2 7th inning lead, but I plan on having a very good time anyway.

Everything you hear down here is that Time Warner is going to sell the Braves to Liberty Media in a stock deal that could be announed at any time. Supposedly the operations and budget will remain unchanged . . . which kind of sucks since after years of Ted Turner's open checkbook, John Schurholtz has been hamstrung by Time Warner's salary constaints.

I think they could get away with the offense they have right now if they could pick up a starter and if they could get ANYTHING out of the bullpen. That bullpen may be the worst I've seen for the Braves since the late 80s.

It could not happen to a better team....!

Go Redlegs!

That is my understanding as well, as the tax implications from the stock swap are worth many millions in dollars anyone else would have to pay. Still, even if the budget is the same, I would think that the team would be reluctant to make ANY moves, even relatively inexpensive ones, until the sale is complete. You don't change the tires on a car you are trying to sell.

Does anybody know the projected starters for Saturday's game? I know Schilling is the HOFer, but I think it could be cool to see Wakefield toss butterflies at the plate. I have no idea where the Sox are in their rotation, though.

The same thing that has made them so successful is the same thing that drives me crazy, Bobby Cox. Ken Ray comes in throwing mid 90's and that's not his out pitch and looks great. Bobby comes out and says that Reitsma is still the closer, it drives me crazy. My closer would be the guy getting the outs, not the guy that looks like a closer. :banghead:

I think the "Reitsma is my closer" talk is pretty much a thing of the past. He got absolutely torched (again) on Sunday.
