The Official Braves Thread Of Volnation

come on, like the cubs were going to score. Giving up 5 runs to the cubs is like giving up 12 to a regular team. Don't say you may have found a closer untill he goes aginst real comp, not a AA team.

Wow . . . It only took until mid May for reality to set in for a Cub fan.

Looks McCann is headed for the DL.I think BC may have tried to get him back (pinch hitting) a tad early.

According to what I read, he didn't get hurt pinch hitting. He got hurt in pregame while testing his ankle.

How long will he be out?

They are saying two weeks. The 15 day DL will be retroactive to his pinch hitting appearance on Wednesday, but it sounds like he'll need a few more days than that.

Indeed, a reaggravation of the injured area while running figure 8's during pregame warm-ups.

True but a win is a win. :D I will say this, I like Dusty Baker and hate for the Braves to be part of him losing his job if that's the case.

Dusty NEEDS to be on the damn hot seat. Insted we've got the Tribune talking contract extensions with him. NOW of all times. :banghead:

Go figure.I thought he was all but gone.

yeah, never know.. the if brothers (wood/prior) are both out and lee... tough to be good

but losing something like 21 of your last 25 has to turn some heads

Who knows. I thought I've been through front office hell with my teams, with the Blazers recently. Now this... Following sports for me is hell.

Exactly. Losing those 3 guys sucks, but we've been without Wood and Prior plenty as it is. And even without Lee, it's still not an excuse to produce one of the worst stretches we'll see by any team in baseball this year. Completely inexcusable. It just seems like the front office is crossing their fingers so that Mark Prior will come back and win the Cy Young, while DLee comes back and becomes the hottest hitter in the bigs for the rest of the season. Ain't gonna happen. I could see us getting back to .500 under good circumstances, but I don't see the Cubs as anything better than a .500 club under Dusty. He needs to be canned, and it's about damn time everybody involved in the franchise went for the f***in' gold.

Is Kerry Wood injury prone or what?He seems to out alot.

I dunno. I personally think he's overrated. He takes a while to get warmed up, which is okay for a starter. But he doesn't have the endurance to handle it. So you put him as a starting pitcher, and he gets injured easily, or you put him in any other way and he takes too long to get going. He's money mid-game when he's healthy, but that never happens.

The Braves look really tired to me. The road trips and day games may be taking a toll. I noticed in the paper this morning that Atlanta has played fewer home games than anybody in the NL. I guess it's a good thing that they have a ton of home games coming up and they are done going to the West Coast.

Maybe. Relief kind of let them down tonight I think.

It seems like the Braves bullpen gives up more than their fair share of bloopers, fist shots and swinging bunts.
