The Official Braves Thread Of Volnation

Another day, another lead given up by the bullpen. I've never seen anything like it.

shesh, I hate even looking at the sports pages any more...this is crazy! I feel like i did back in the dale murphy days...

Just keeps getting worse......

Smoltz just left the game with a right leg injury.

They have said Hamstring, Hip Flexor, Quad. Don't know yet, what it is. He threw two warm-up pitches after the injury, and as soon as he let go of the second one, he walked off the mound and straight for the clubhouse.

Well, guess he won't be traded now.

Nice win over the Yanks tonight. Good pitching night for Ramirez. Sosa got the save but gave up a long ball with bases empty. Lets put two together.

I 'd like to give a big shout out to the Brave's bullpen, especially Sosa, for blowing another masterful performance for John Smoltz once again! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Don't look now.

Braves are our of the cellar, and only three games out of second place. Ofcourse, they are still doubledigits behind the Mets, but the Mets have lost 4 in a row. If the Braves could make a run before the break, and be down 9, I think they have a shot. I don't think the Mets will hold up, I really don't.

Looks like the Mets win today. I think that puts the Braves 14 back heading into tonight. I think a wildcard is the best hope and even that will be tough. Anything is possible though.

Let's hope Hudson can pitch well tonight and get the Braves another W and a series win.

If I wasn't going to be optimistic what would be the point? :biggrin2:

True. I pull for the Braves too, but their run of dominance I think is over. Scherholtz(spelling?) I think has let the team fade. Im not sure if its farm system issues or plain ole $ issues. But the recipe or formula the Braves made the cake of success with has been altered. When Mazzone left I think it was the coup de grace. Time to cut losses and rebuild.

"It ain't over til it's over"! :aggressive: ........... :biggrin2:

I don't think the farm club is suffering.

Look at all the young Braves that are good players.

This team's problem is lack of consistant pitching and a lack of a bullpen that can hold onto a lead. The owners haven't let John spend the money on those pitchers that would have been the difference. I'm really surprised they were able to bring in Edgar, and that probably only happened because of his poor season last yr.

6-3 Orioles right now but the Braves have two on with nobody out. :cross:

Braves Lost, but didn't lose any ground on second place. They did lose another game to the Mets.

Braves are 14.5 out of first and 3 games behind both Florida and Philadelphia who are 11.5 back of the Mets.

The Nationals are 15 back of the Mets, and only .5 behind the Braves.

I think it's time we start tracking the wild card. Braves are 10 back there.

Gotta have a win tomorrow. Ramirez will pitch well I think. If you look at it, out of five starts in June, the Houston game was the only one he really pitched poorly in.
