The Official Braves Thread Of Volnation

True. I pull for the Braves too, but their run of dominance I think is over. Scherholtz(spelling?) I think has let the team fade. Im not sure if its farm system issues or plain ole $ issues. But the recipe or formula the Braves made the cake of success with has been altered. When Mazzone left I think it was the coup de grace. Time to cut losses and rebuild.

A franchise that has won 14 consecutive division titles should be able to do better than Chris Reitsma to start the season as the closer.

I think it's time we start tracking the wild card. Braves are 10 back there.

Gotta have a win tomorrow. Ramirez will pitch well I think. If you look at it, out of five starts in June, the Houston game was the only one he really pitched poorly in.
I agree.Track the wild card (and it's not an easy road). :banghead:

Could the pitching actually be improving?
I told you, Ramirez has been pitching well. :biggrin2:

13.5 back of the Mets. 9 back in the Wild Card.

The Braves have losing records against every division in the NL. Gotta bring that up, to fight for the Wild Card.

All Star Break Starts The 10th. Braves have a good chance to make up ground, as teams ahead of them, play each other.

Braves have 3 against St. Louis, and 4 against the Reds, all at home.

Mets have 4 against Pittsburgh, then 3 against the Marlins.

Marlins have 4 against Washington (right on the Braves' heels) and then 3 against the Mets.

Philadelphia has 3 against SD, then 3 against Pittsburgh.

Washington has three against Florida, then 3 against San Diego

Probably not gonna gain much with the pittsburgh games, they are worse than the Braves. The Braves play the top two teams from the Central. San Diego is leading the West. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the next week.

Braves really need to win something like 5 of 7 going into the break.

It's tough to figure out now that Fox has bought up Turner South. They are always on Fox Sports on Wednesday's . . . Other than that, you have to hunt them down.

Aiie. Torborg and Rathburn make it hard to watch Braves games... at least tonight's game is on ESPN.

...and I just realized it'll probably be blacked out here. We never get to Braves games on ESPN, and they even blacked out a Reds game a week or so ago...

Reds lost today (in a wild 9th inning by both teams). Braves can cut the wild card to 8 with a win tonight.

Another good outing from the bullpen tonight. Sosa isn't quite dominant, but he looks like a viable closer.

8 back in the wild card. Nice game from Giles.

Braves look like they are getting a little confidence back.

Great Night For The Braves.

They Rally After the Rain, and Move On Up!!

1/2 Game Ahead of Washington.
1 Game Behind Florida
2 1/2 Games Behind Philadelphia.
12 1/2 Games Behind The Mets.

8 Behind in the Wild Card!

I wonder if maybe the loss of Reitsma will prompt them to go after someone and spend just a smidge of money.

They need to. I am not convinced Sosa can get the job done in that closer role. He has done ok so far but I don't feel real good about him there.
