The Official Braves Thread Of Volnation

I'm a Braves fan and all, but isn't our pitching coach more famous for his MTV Rock and Jock pitching than his MLB pitching?

Do I have the right McDowell?

I think we should have brought the new guy in last night in the 8th after we let them go up by 1 run.We may have won the game.Being a pitcher for 10 years, I can't buy that the closer only pitching 3 outs.We should have let him try to get 5 outs and possibly won the game 5-4.

Youre either a Braves fan or youre not guy. I wont tolerate any of this jumping off and jumping on jazz. Make up your mind.

I hope Wickman works out, but I dont see how a guy with a 4.10 era is going to help anything. He sould fit right in with those kinda stats.

Maybe we can back our way into the wildcard, but I doubt it. The season was blown when we started it with guys that had never made a Major League roster in their lives and a pitching coach that belongs in the circus.

Wickman is a little better than the league average in a lot of areas. Should be very solid for Atlanta in the NL.

I have NEVER been a Braves fan. I'm just saying that I would support the team if I moved to Atlanta.

You do indeed have the correct McDowell.

Who was the McDowell that pitched for the White Sox among others? Wasn't that Jack? He was quite a character too, I believe... if I've got the right guy anyway.

Yep . . . Jack pitched for the White Sox. Roger pitched for the Dodgers.

I am originally from KY, so if I spurned anybody, it was the Reds. If I ever move to Cincy, I'll be a Reds fan. But, I've always been a Mets fan. I may back the Braves if I move to Atlanta (maybe in 2008). For now, I'm not jumping off of the Mets and onto the Braves when we're finally winning. :biggrin2:
The guy is right, your either a Braves fan or your not. Its not like the Braves are like the Yankees. Most people that you ask who their favorite team is they will say the Yankees, for football its the Cowboys, basketball its the Lakers or Bulls. If your a Braves fan you gotta know what your talking about, like Chipper and Andruw rock when you are asked about the Braves. Yankee fans couldnt tell you who plays for them. If you want to be a Braves fan go right ahead but you gotta stay with them its the right thing to do.

I'll repeat what I said in post #905. I have NEVER EVER EVER been a Braves fan. I have ALWAYS been a Mets fan. The jumping on/off comment I made earlier was in response to BraveVol's request that I become a Braves fan. I will always be a Mets fan. However, In April, when I still lived in KY, I went to a Reds game and cheered for the Reds. If I go to a game in Tampa this summer, I'll cheer for the Devil Rays. I could see myself supporting the Braves if I moved to Atlanta. This is a Braves thread, and we're talking about the loyalty of a Mets fan. :eek:lol: I will change the avatar when football season starts and we're on the same side.

Is Kyle Davies hurt or did he get sent back down??

He tore a groin muscle in the middle of a game a couple of months ago . . . I believe he's out until at least August.

Sweet, your a Vols fan well thats good, by the way can you not pick just one team to cheer for. Its not that hard. If I went to a Yankees game I would wear my Braves hat and support my Braves. Even if they were not playing the Braves I like to represent my team. Wouldnt that be nice for you to experience that true love  for a sports team, I dont care if it isnt the Braves althouh that would be nice.

Is it really necessary to list the Cubs and Pirates? Weren't they mathematically eliminated in mid-April?

Dude, I wore a Mets shirt to that Reds game I was at. I lived in WV for two years and went to a bunch of games at PNC Park (Pirates have the best ballpark by far), but I was still a Met. I'm with you on supporting your team everywhere. Now, I will be a UF student this Fall, but I'm still a Vol. :eek:k:

No, it is not necessary. I think the Marlins are also out of it. Their young team made a nice charge for a while, but they're too far out now. I think the Marlins' payroll is only 14 or 15 million dollars.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot the tidwell rules to message board posting when I spen my time looking up and typing every team name and sharing the standings with everyone so that they can come here and see them without having to look them up anywhere else.

Let me share page four of OrangeSquare's guide to reading my posts....

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY I DO IT, FEEL FREE TO STOP READING AFTER THE TEAM OF YOUR CHOICE.

There, now that we understand each other, I'm sure we will be able to move along swimingly. :moon2:

I always like to see which comes first; Labor Day or the day the Pirates get eliminated from the NL Central.
