Aranda is only 11-9 as a head coach. He's turned it around this year and I think he would be a good hire, but I'm not sure he is all that great. Why is everybody convinced Napier would be awesome at UF or LSU? I'm not saying that he'd be bad, but everybody speaks with such supreme confidence that he'd be great.
What he's done at Louisiana is impressive, but does anybody really have any idea how he'd handle being the head man at a big job? Personally I think Aranda is the guy for LSU.
There's no doubt what he's done there is impressive, but I like Aranda's done as a very successful DC at 2 P5 jobs, he's been a P5 head coach, and he's already coached at LSU.Aranda is only 11-9 as a head coach. Napier is 31-5 at Louisiana the last 3 years and won 10 games each of those three years. At a school that NEVER had won 10 games in a season prior to his arrival.
Every hire is a crapshoot, but I think Napier will be a star somewhere and I hope it's LSU not FL.
I’m still adjusting to the new members sry
It's all good. Everyone seems to think OU is just going to allow a playoff contending coach to walk away to another job.
If Jerry Jones couldn't pull him out of Norman to take over the Cowboys (the rumors were hot and heavy the last time they were looking), I seriously doubt he's going to leave a Blue Blood program for another program that's really not an "upgrade" in any measurable stat.
The first 5 years under Riley are better than the last 5 under Stoops. However I think that speaks to both Riley and the condition Stoops left the program in.I think Riley is overrated
Overrated - people generally have a higher opinion of him than he’s worth. Not saying he’s a bad coach - just saying he’s overrated. It’s subjectiveThe first 5 years under Riley are better than the last 5 under Stoops. However I think that speaks to both Riley and the condition Stoops left the program in.
The only thing he hasn't done there is win a CFP game, but that doesn't mean he's overrated. I don't think anybody puts Riley at Saban, Day, or even Kirby's level.
What is the opinion that you think people have of him? The impression I get is that people think he's a great coach, but behind these guys that have won playoff games. Public opinion of him seems appropriate to meOverrated - people generally have a higher opinion of him than he’s worth. Not saying he’s a bad coach - just saying he’s overrated. It’s subjective
Not sure what all went on at UNC that he was involved in, but he “cleaned up” some of the crap that was going on at the U. Got talent from all over the country, not just the “state of Miami.”
Which ultimately lead to where Miami is now. But he was a winner. As a ‘Nole fan as well, he did get screwed out of the 2000 BCS. I hate saying that, but it’s a fact.
Bunch of academic fraud. This was separate and prior scandal from the bogus class scandal that they totally skated on.
Butch Davis fired by Tar Heels
Improper benefits and academic fraud. Some of the misdeeds involved assistant John Blake and not necessarily Davis.
