Aranda is only 11-9 as a head coach. He's turned it around this year and I think he would be a good hire, but I'm not sure he is all that great.
Napier is 31-5 at Louisiana the last 3 years and won 10 games each of those three years. At a school that NEVER had won 10 games in a season prior to his arrival.
Every hire is a crapshoot, but I think Napier will be a star somewhere and I hope it's LSU not FL.

There's no doubt what he's done there is impressive, but I like Aranda's done as a very successful DC at 2 P5 jobs, he's been a P5 head coach, and he's already coached at LSU.

It's all good. Everyone seems to think OU is just going to allow a playoff contending coach to walk away to another job.

If Jerry Jones couldn't pull him out of Norman to take over the Cowboys (the rumors were hot and heavy the last time they were looking), I seriously doubt he's going to leave a Blue Blood program for another program that's really not an "upgrade" in any measurable stat.

The first 5 years under Riley are better than the last 5 under Stoops. However I think that speaks to both Riley and the condition Stoops left the program in.

The only thing he hasn't done there is win a CFP game, but that doesn't mean he's overrated. I don't think anybody puts Riley at Saban, Day, or even Kirby's level.

Overrated - people generally have a higher opinion of him than he’s worth. Not saying he’s a bad coach - just saying he’s overrated. It’s subjective

What is the opinion that you think people have of him? The impression I get is that people think he's a great coach, but behind these guys that have won playoff games. Public opinion of him seems appropriate to me

Which ultimately lead to where Miami is now. But he was a winner. As a ‘Nole fan as well, he did get screwed out of the 2000 BCS. I hate saying that, but it’s a fact.

Improper benefits and academic fraud. Some of the misdeeds involved assistant John Blake and not necessarily Davis.
