Jeff Samardzija is the first pitcher since George Dumont in 1917 to go winless in his first seven starts of a season while compiling an ERA below 2.00.

The cubs won two straight vs the brewers.
I'm optimistic it's not fools gold but not getting to exited as with the cards situation I've seen this movie of fools gold.

Now it's a rematch with the freakin yanks.
Other great news brewers continue to stink it up with a loss to the braves on Monday.

Suck on that dirt yanks cubs payback the yanks with a 6-1 defeat and tanaka was not topnotch giving him his first loss.
Payback is sweet undefeated tanaka no more.

The cubs are blowing more than the wind in Chicago.
Win vs the giants on Monday but then lose three straight. At least last week there was win one, lose one.

I'll be in Chicago in two weeks to see the cubs play the pirates. If I said at the start of the year both teams would be playing to stay out of the bottom of the division I think most people would be damn shocked.

Damn regrettably finishing as the worst place team predicted by some guy at mlb network is looking factual.

A week after a garbage week the cubs are producing a topnotch week.
A sweep of the mets, and a extra innings win with a two run walk off homer over the high flying marlins.

This week the cubs have prove to be a resilient tough cardiac come from behind team.

And yet we're still in last place, 10 games out of first, and 10 games under .500. Still a huge hole to climb out of.

It's been the story of the entire freakin season.
It seems any productive week is fools gold as they revert back to mediocrity, or garbage.
Or they have a full week where they are just a scrub.

On a better note I saw the cubs defeat the pirates 6-4 last Friday in game one, five runs in one winning that is topnotch.
If the cubs could play this freakin good for each game I attended a better record indeed.
I hadn't see a great game by the cubs like that in a long time.

I hope Epstien's strategy pays dividends within the next season or two. Seems like we have some good prospects loaded up at Triple A Iowa ready to get called up next season.

So Ortiz of the Red Sox saying that day games have plagued the cubs for why they've had the abysmal drought of no World Series title since 1908.

A night game in Chicago would be a prime target for crime.

Where else could Baez and Russell play? Move one of them to 2nd? 3rd? I'd think the Cubs like Castro at short.

Not bad

With the trade, the Cubs' farm system got even better. It now boasts six of the top 75 position player prospects in baseball, according to Law's preseason rankings: Russell (No. 3), Baez (No. 7), outfielder Kris Bryant (No. 15), outfielder Jorge Soler (No. 26), outfielder Albert Almora (No. 28) and second baseman Arismendy Alcantara (No. 71).

I dunno why you'd wanna trade Starlin.

I hope Baez gets out of his current funk.

Tough to say with such certainty that he is better. Could just keep 'em both, no?

Then again, Theo may see Starlin's good year and sell high on a SS.
