I see you are a Nats fan -- imagine if Harper stayed in the minors his rookie season in the majors --- Cubs spend all that money on free agents then keep a hot prospect in the minors ? Well Ok by me, Cub fans should be used to this kind of management

Even the article you linked doesn't fault the Cubs for their handling of the situation. Everybody will just have to wait a couple extra weeks to witness greatness.
You don't give up an entire season just for a couple weeks' worth of games.
Not a Cubs fan, but that's disappointing to hear. Now I'm stuck watching Braves games if I need a baseball fix. Not enough national coverage in the sport. Also, I don't see how anyone thinks Bryant staying down 9 games is a big deal. The Cubs are just playing by the rules that the MLBPA and MLB have set up. It's smart. 162 games as a 30 year-old during their championship years>9 games as a 23 year-old during a .500 year.
Some bad news for Cub fans --- WGN is no longer going to show Cub games nationwide -- only in the Chicago area now --- lots of sad Cub fans around me right now
CSN will be showing 85 Cub games and 75 White Sox games on cable -- FOX midwest shows about 90 Cardinal games -- I also get a NY channel that shows Mets and Yankee games. ESPN always has alot of games on also.
