The Official Chicago Cubby Bears Thread

I believe they are speaking with Travis Wood about a return.

Signed Brett Anderson. Traded for Wade Davis. Brought in John Jay.

Thanks T. I think Jay is going to share some time with Almora in the outfield.I really like Wade Davis but don't know much about Anderson. Hope they can get Wood to return. Loved those games where Maddon played Wood in the OF for an inning and brought him back in to pitch. Genius, imo

Checked up on Anderson, only 4 appearances last year, had his 2nd back surgery. Had a pretty good year in 2015, tho, and u can never have too many lefty pitchers. Hopefully, returns to his 2015 performance. Wade Davis was nasty for the Royals in 2015, especially in the ALCS and WS

And 2016

I am hoping this is the year Baez becomes an all-star. That half year he had with the Smokies was amazing. The next year, Kris Bryant was even better. I read somewhere when Bryant was called up, he led the Southern League in 10 hitting categories. Idk, if that has ever happened b4, but I don't remember it ever happening. Follow that with Schwarber and then last year with Wilson Contreras and Almora, jr. It gives me confidence that will we have another stud this year at the Smokies, that will be called up to the show, at the least by September

Looks like Eloy Jimenez is the no.1 Cubs' minor league prospect. Hits for average and power, cannon for an arm, OF but only 19. Not sure if he starts out with the Smokies, but he will be there next year, eventually. Hopefully, the next great Smokey, that will contribute with the Cubs next year, maybe have to wait until 2018.

The Cubs got swept by the Pirates this weekend and had 3 blown saves. Relief pitching is killing us. Damn, I miss Chapman! I know it's early, but 6-6, is not going to get it done. The hitting and starting pitching will be there, Lester left the game in the 7th with a 1-0 lead. Theo may have to go get us another closer

Thanks for the info, I have only seen them play in the opener, this year. Is Wade Davis healthy?

Yea, TBrown, u were right on. Wade has been spectacular, so far. Hopefully, middle relief will keep improving. I still feel like, Cubs win the Central, easily. U have to figure, whatever we need, by the trade deadline, Theo will go get it
