That’s an outlier. No poll that carries any weight, had an Omaha team with as many starters/pieces returning as we did had us that low. BA and D1, the two most commonly cited, polls had us 18th and 19th.

Collegiate Baseball had UT #34 for preseason 2022. Collegiate Baseball Div. 1 Poll (12-20-21) - Collegiate Baseball Newspaper
same poll had TN #5 for 23 preseason. I think they should have been reversed. 22 should have been #5 and 23 team should have been #34.

I don’t have to be the smartest. All I have to do is be smarter than someone making posts accusing an entire team of giving no effort and having no desire to win whenever that is factually incorrect, given the strong effort by the bullpen. They could have folded but they showed fight. Far from having no effort and no desire to beat Florida.

And then double down and say if they were on scholarship they would be giving more effort than these kids. Sure they have made a lot of mental mistakes, but it’s not for lack of desire to win. No athlete wants to go out there and lose. All these guys have a certain level of pride to have gotten to this level. MLB scouts are always watching and they determine where or if you get drafted a lot of times. If you don’t give effort then they take notice.
