I disagree. It was a swinging squeeze. You go when you see the ball on the ground. Some times it works and some times it does not but it is a part of baseball. I think the only baserunning questionable play today was the one most of you would say was a great play. Burke going home when the ball is on the way was questionable in many's minds. I think the only way to win ballgames is to get some guys thrown out at home. If you don't take a few chances, you are playing too safe for me. Just like the swinging squeeze. He was just hung out to dry when the pitcher came up with it but if it gets by the pitcher he scores. Part of it.
Burke going home was the right call. The reason Elander was a little upset with Burke was because of his turn around third. It was not good. He turned wide and went well past the coaches box, which cost him some time to the plate.

I didn’t see the play so not necessarily commenting on that. But I don’t think you have to slide on a double play. You don’t have to slide anywhere else.

Probably the fact he pinwheeled the guy that resulted in that call. It didn't look egregious live, but on replay he flipped that poor guy lol
