The Official Larry Fedora Thread I

He would win. Big splash is fine. Winning the press conf. is fine. UT needs to win on the football field and if Fedora is it.....then bring him on.

I'll say this. I still like Davis a little better but after doing some reading I could be happy if we have to settle for Fedora. Spread offense guy that was doing it and building it before it was popular. He said in an interview that he was proud of the fact he runs a balanced run/pass spread off. Also a Fl stat quote "I was proud of the fact that last year, we led the league in offense and we had the number one passer, the number one rusher and the number one receiver from the University of Florida. And that was the first time that had ever happened in the SEC"

Butch Davis? Why?

Davis' best season was eight wins at UNC. Fedora had much less talent than Davis had and reached eight wins his first season.

Larry Fedora is a ball coach pure and simple. Would be a great hire for UT.
Not the big splash everyone wants. However, the goal is winning ball games. Fedora will do that.

Fedora, if given the money to hire a great staff, would win here. A lot. He's my top coach in that 2nd tier.

I would love to have Fedora here but I am weary of any coach who is willing to leave their job after one year. It's sort of like starting a serious relationship with your mistress.

I am a TN Fan, but USM Alumni and from what I have seen from Fedora he would be actually a good hire, proven that he brings in a GREAT DC. While in Hattiesburg, he would often come in to the place I worked (Olive Garden) and was a people person. I am all for Gruden, but would be happy w/ Fedora.

There were new developments on the academic side since Fedora took the job.

By the way, UNC finished 54th in total defense.

That's not bad for a guy in his first year that "doesn't know anything" about defense.

You in hattiesburg brah?

I'd much rather us go hard after Patterson or an NFL Coordinator. Not impressed with his success at a Mid Major school. Would rather have the Kent State coach before him.
